Imagine coalition leaders recoiling in horror at the prospect of facing the truth that it is they who are the most criminally liable and culpable terrorists in the world today! Former Secretary General of the UN, Kofi Annan, stated that in order to effectively combat terrorism a universal definition of ‘terrorism’ would be imperative. A ratified definition would eliminate politically motivated, arbitrary definitions made by various groups/States for the principal purpose of serving their own interests. In the absence of a universal definition the legal system and International criminal courts are ‘hamstrung’ or worse, subject to manipulation by powerful (criminal) interests. (story and 1 image)

American Justice: Hicks Tortured, Rumsfeld Exonerated!

The now infamous Donald Rumsfeld has avoided legal responsibility for the extremely controversial ruling he made in December 2002, which effectively allowed the U.S. military to utilise torture methods against their perceived or imagined enemies. An American court ruled that Rumsfeld had no case to answer due principally to the fact that as Secretary of Defence he was IMMUNE from the charges! One Law for you and another for me! If the public ever wondered why Bush, Blair and Howard appear unconcerned over the prospect of war crimes charges, perhaps the Rumsfeld decision sheds some light on the matter. (story and 1 image)

Howard blunders badly over Hicks Case

John Howard, the servile Australian prime minister has probably ended his tenure in office over his blind, sycophantic support of the flagrantly illegal proceedings against the Australian citizen, David Hicks. Howard’s extraordinary support of a foreign power at the cost of his own nation and its values is a political blunder from which it is almost impossible to recover. The very widely known facts of the Kangaroo military proceedings against Hicks speak for themselves. Any nation that legalises torture, flouts the Geneva convention and International law; attacks civil liberties and human rights; denies habeas corpus; admits hearsay ‘evidence’ obtained under duress and torture has no legal or moral claim on the concept of justice whatsoever. Aussie Torture Victim pleads ‘Guilty’

In circumstances that could only be described as ‘railroading’ and coercive, the Aussie battler, David Hicks has pleaded guilty to one count of providing material support to terrorists. Few Australians, including leading legal advocates accept the ‘trial’ of Hicks as legally legitimate. The flagrantly rogue court convened under the most biased and unfair conditions also disqualified Hicks’ civilian lawyers at the last minute. Hicks’ (now) disqualified lawyers accused the presiding judge, Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Kohlmann of making up the rules as he went along – there is nothing new in the ‘legal’ proceedings at Guantanamo Bay! Wind down from your artificially induced stress/pace and confront your personal reality – take stock for a moment. Your existence has been confined to sustaining and maintaining a system that makes ever-increasing demands on your liberty and freedom – the pillars upon which joy and satisfaction are built/derived! The frenzied pace of western society is largely the result of the manic need for ever increasing profits and greater concentrations of wealth in the fewest possible hands, which inevitably places higher demands on those at the bottom of the financial scale. Obtaining wealth is simply a matter of applying unfair downward pressure in favour of upward flowing benefits; wealth is not created it is the result of manipulation and/or theft – the historical record bears this out. Put simply, profit is exploitation/theft!

The office of president of the USA has become an experimental position where corporate placed buffoons are allowed to reign ruin on the world. The “bouquet of flowers, mission accomplished, WMD, give war a chance”, administration got it wrong from the start yet ‘bouquet’ Wolfowitz has been promoted to president of the World Bank, where he continues to bungle and lose to other interests (China). Prepare for a major ‘incident’ from desperate conservative forces worldwide! The following article would be a routine report if not for U.S. war games and joint military exercises to be held in Australia in the next few weeks. The recent visit of deputy sheriff, John Howard, to Japan on behalf of his master, the USA, provides for Japan to take an active role in military affairs in the region. Howard signed a joint military assistance pact with Japan, which maintains a constitutional anti-war restriction on its military (at the moment).
Joint military exercises in strategic locations around the globe should alarm China, Russia and other nations. The Americans have no notion of subtlety so these exercises indicate more than just routine events. The rogue must be stopped!

Surely a little nudge does not warrant such an over-reaction from the panic-stricken U.S. administration. One of the last ‘cards’ in the neo-con deck has been played, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, conveniently held in reserve for future political emergencies, has confessed to everything from 9/11, to stealing my son’s push bike. Panic reigns in conservative park! Whatever happened to Bin Laden? The extreme measure of producing a victim of classic torture/brainwashing in a futile attempt to save the day for conservatives around the world, from Bush to the Howard government of Australia, is bound to fail. Independent experts in various fields could easily determine whether or not the subject is in a fit psychological state and whether any confessions should be taken seriously. Years from now students will read early 21st century American history with incredulity and dismay. Who could blame any high school student for thinking that historians got it wrong? How could a person with the logic of a mad hatter rise to the position of Defence Secretary in the world’s most powerful military nation; and how could the President of the day consider that person a valuable asset/adviser?
