The Everyday Extremism of Washington
Tom Engelhardt via fleet, Saturday, May 9 2009, 2:30am
A front-page New York Times headline last week put the matter politely indeed: "In Pakistan, U.S. Courts Leader of Opposition." And nobody thought it was strange at all.
In fact, it's the sort of thing you can read just about any time when it comes to American policy in Pakistan or, for that matter, Afghanistan. It's just the norm on a planet on which it's assumed that American civilian and military leaders can issue pronunciamentos about what other countries must do; publicly demand various actions of ruling groups; opt for specific leaders, and then, when they disappoint, attempt to replace them; and use what was once called "foreign aid," now taxpayer dollars largely funneled through the Pentagon, to bribe those who are hard to convince.

A Stalled Counterrevolution
Robert Kuttner via reed, Friday, May 8 2009, 9:40am
There is no shortage of books attempting to sort out the dynamics of the great financial collapse that began in the summer of 2007. Since we are still in an early phase of the crisis and don't yet know whether it will rival the Great Depression in its depth and duration, all verdicts remain provisional. But rather in the spirit of the 1952 presidential campaign's arguments over who lost China, the battle is already on to define who lost the economy and what to do next.

Murdoch Media Empire going belly up!
peptide, Thursday, May 7 2009, 10:30am
And you shouldn’t be surprised after years of treating the public with arrogance and contempt. Peddling flagrant, tissue-thin LIES is a very short term occupation these days, Murdoch! The public are leaving you in droves never to return again! How long did you think you could compete with millions of bloggers telling the truth while you continued to LIE and peddle transparent propaganda? (story and 1 comment and 1 image)

More Civilian deaths; “regrettable,” says Clinton
nano, Wednesday, May 6 2009, 9:00pm
There is something extremely offensive about using the word “regrettable” after killing over one million innocent civilians in illegal, invasive, acquisitive wars. That word accepts no responsibility nor does it offer any consolation to innocent victims! (story and 1 image)

The nation owes you a jail sentence, Keelty
barra, Tuesday, May 5 2009, 9:42pm
FBI trained, ‘drunken dropkick,’ Mick ‘political expedience’ Keelty, announced his resignation from the post of Head CORRUPT (Bali nine sacrifice, Haneef frame up) Federal copper today, two years before his contract expired! Perhaps it was his gross PUBLIC, “well planned event,” blunders that forced his EARLY retirement, or the early onset of alcohol induced dementia that became an embarrassment to the show pony government of Kevin ‘custard face’ Rudd that propelled Keelty out the door, we can only make extremely accurate assumptions! Living History and the REAL face of America
Kingfisher, Tuesday, May 5 2009, 10:12am
The picture below depicts what appears to be a benign old man in the twilight years of his life – how deceiving appearances can be! If you ever wondered what a genuine mass murdering, war criminal and sociopath looks like, take a good, long, hard look at the infamous face of Henry ‘kiss of death’ Kissinger, who achieved notoriety as the man responsible for the indiscriminate saturation/carpet-bombing of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, which resulted in approximately FOUR MILLION INNOCENT CIVILIAN DEATHS! That is an outstanding effort and ranks with the most heinous criminal mass murderers of the 20th century yet Kissinger like Cheney, Rice, Bush, Rumsfeld and the rest, walks free while kids are jailed for smoking marijuana! In the land of the great white (and now black) RAT, any INJUSTICE is possible. (story and 4 comments and 1 image)

Divorced from Reality – America is a Disease
fish, Monday, May 4 2009, 9:43pm
It is important that all rational, clear thinking people of the world are able to recognise a sick society immediately they are confronted with its psychopathologies and/or its sick population. The following video highlights a COMPLETE, pervasive psychopathology that enables criminals to assume national leadership and openly extol the (perceived) ‘benefits’ of TORTURE, invasive warfare and mass murder.

Torture argument clarified
fish, Sunday, May 3 2009, 10:45pm
Torture invariably produces results that torturers wish to hear. The best source for verification is the Catholic Inquisition. Almost all the victims tortured by the Catholic Church “confessed” to “cohabitation with the devil” and were subsequently executed by the Church. The Church’s political interests were served by a TERROR CAMPAIGN overseen by sexually perverse, sadistic, priests administering torture to numerous innocent women and some men over a period of hundreds of years. Today we see the absurdity of those ‘confessions,’ nevertheless, at the time such absurdities were ‘realities!’ TORTURE INVARIABLY PRODUCES EXACTLY WHAT THE TORTURERS WISH TO HEAR – sex with the devil yesterday, 9/11 today! Masturbation and Servility prevent Swine Flu ... Australia is saved!

[Hmm ... a little more substance, please. Ed]
Try focusing on this REALITY -- The 'new' U.S. Administration refuses to pursue TORTURERS and those responsible for the deaths of millions of INNOCENT civilians in Indo-China and Iraq. By any definition of the word, the USA is the world's leading TERRORIST State!
Stick that in your Swine Flu pipe and smoke it!

Enraged About Corporate Greed? Kidnap Your Boss
Christopher Ketcham via budgie, Thursday, Apr 30 2009, 10:15pm
In answer to their own economic crisis, the French have taken up "bossnapping."
Here's how it works: An executive of a company, perhaps the CEO, stands before a group of his employees, puts his hands together, sighs, and then, with regret as smooth as brie, explains the fact that downsizing is needed to meet the exigencies of economic crisis (read: the preservation of profits in downturn).

Rogue nations and poisonous ideologies: we know what we must do!
Captain, Wednesday, Apr 29 2009, 11:10pm
Comrades, brothers and sisters and all thinking people of the world – WE are ONE!
However, it is clear we constitute a minority, notwithstanding an extremely capable minority of highly dedicated, passionate, motivated and skilled people of conscience and moral fibre. We continue to work together in communities, small groups and individually against overwhelming odds and forces that would lay waste to the entire world for the sake of singular control, avaricious gain and a host of other perversities.
WE are CALLED! (story and 4 comments and 1 image)

Washout USA!
nano, Tuesday, Apr 28 2009, 9:19pm
Today’s new torture tolerant, civilian holocaust, America, now ranks with the world’s most obscenely inhuman, criminal regimes. Laotian and Cambodian children continue to die from the millions of tons of unexploded ordnance ILLEGALLY DROPPED in their respective nations during the Vietnam war – no attempt has been made by Christian (hypocritical) America to ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY and assist -- bombed into impoverishment -- nations in the removal of unexploded ordnance. The world capital of DENIAL is loath to face itself and its true murdering, criminal nature! (story and 2 comments)

Obama sees a “glimmer of hope” in the toilet-bowl economy – LIE! But we are expected to believe that codswallop and that things (invasive wars and financial blowout) are on the improve when in fact nothing could be further from the truth. The LIES emanating from the White House today are indistinguishable from those of the previous regime’s harlequin team, Cheney and Rice, only this time the Secretary of State is white! Report it briefly but do not pursue the issue or dwell on it in any way; such are the policy directives from the West’s mass media outlets. Disadvantage vs Advantage
Captain, Tuesday, Apr 21 2009, 9:56pm
All political strategists know that when disadvantage outweighs advantage it becomes IMPERATIVE to alter course or change policy. In the case of boy president, Obama, the real ruling executive has a MAJOR problem. Obama’s failure to pursue TORTURE charges – a UNIVERSALLY DESPISED crime – is threatening to subvert what remains of any influence or credibility the U.S. may have in the world today. It simply is IMPOSSIBLE to IGNORE or DENY TORTURE! Yet former CIA chiefs and a former VP, (guess who?) have publicly extolled the ‘virtues’ of torture – ABSOLUTE LUNACY! The pure dissociated insanity of it all and the ensuing negative impact are creating ‘unhelpful’ circumstances for the USA – understatement of the century! (story and 1 comment)
