Not so smooth after all!
finch, Tuesday, Jan 20 2009, 7:32pm
The black saviour of the world, the great American orator, the ‘new transformative’ image America needs so desperately to succeed just fumbled his lines taking the Oath of Office, for Pete’s sake! Not even dunderhead ‘dubya’ fumbled those lines; sort of makes you wonder, don’t it? A portent of the future perhaps! A quick search of the net revealed this classic one-liner; "underneath the pose there's just more prose, I suppose." In a land of one-liners it makes its point! But we are not so harsh as to criticise a man, only a man, a puppet of the status quo, for exhibiting nerves on such a MOMENTOUS DAY OF FRAUD. Wake up America [real reform is so near we can taste it!] (story and 2 comments and 1 image)

Gaza, murder to a timetable!
finn, Monday, Jan 19 2009, 5:07pm
Wanton destruction, wholesale vandalism, indiscriminate murder and ALL ON CUE; that is Gaza today! Israel (America) has called a unilateral ceasefire in Gaza; scorched earth and indiscriminate killing interfere with nice ‘clean’ inauguration ceremonies in Washington! If anyone required emphatic proof of a CONCERTED arrangement, rigged INTERNATIONAL COURTS and a dummy UN you now have it in Gaza – any Englishman would tell you that a good game of cricket is punctuated with tea and lunch breaks, dear chap! Gaza: 'Apocalypse'
cleaves, Sunday, Jan 18 2009, 10:22pm
Australian aid worker, Tim Costello, has described the scene and conditions in Gaza since the Israeli onslaught as “Apocalyptic!” Tim Costello is apt to use biblical terminology as he is a practicing Christian. He is also known to Aussies as the older brother of former Treasurer to the Howard government, Peter Costello. I mention his background and creds in order to highlight that this man, who has seen many disasters, including the Asian tsunami and Burma cyclone, is not given to exaggeration. Iraqis say farewell to George W. Bush
Gao Shan, Fu Yiming via quin, Sunday, Jan 18 2009, 8:52am
BAGHDAD, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- "You are a liar and a war criminal! Farewell!" blurted Muhammad al-Salami, a professor in Baghdad University, infuriated by the TV footage of the outgoing U.S. President George W. Bush who was giving a farewell speech after eight years in office. (story and 1 image)

Focus on the source of the problem
nano, Sunday, Jan 18 2009, 1:33am
Sometimes I wonder whether I should extol the virtues of NOT drinking tap water – I haven’t touched the stuff in decades. What is glaringly obvious to me seems mysterious or esoteric to others – get a grip! The CURE in Gaza and the Middle East in general, is to hold AMERICAN WAR CRIMINALS AND SUPPORTERS OF ISRAEL’S WARS (murder sprees) TO ACCOUNT! I am of course referring to the outgoing Bush administration, which has supported, militarily and politically, all recent conflicts in the Middle East! Israel wouldn’t dare make an aggressive move in the region without American approval AND SUPPORT! Now take a good, long, cool drink of filtered water and wake up to yourselves.

Silver Lining: musings from the hacker elite!
Kismo, Friday, Jan 16 2009, 8:49pm
Every ‘dark cloud’ has a silver lining and Obama is no exception. The first thing to learn about victory is NEVER LOSE HEART! So what, if Obama is proving to be the greatest traitor and betrayer since Benedict Arnold; the American Revolution survived Arnold, gained momentum and forged onward to FINAL VICTORY. How much easier to overcome a slick, TRANSPARENT, no-conscience, carpetbagger like Obama? Too bloody easy, mate! (story and 1 image)

ICC, no jurisdiction over Israel/America!
barra, Thursday, Jan 15 2009, 9:27pm
The International Criminal Court confirmed, after Palestine brought war crimes issues to notice, that it had no jurisdiction over Israel or America – how convenient! All doubts are removed as to how or why leading terrorist nations, Israel and America, are able to wantonly kill civilians and commit numerous atrocities with impunity! Perhaps Bin Laden ought to insist on a similar arrangement, it worked for Kosovar war criminals, so why not! We should ALL demand equal dispensation or exemption – the LAW is truly an ASS or should I say a convenient means of avoiding JUSTICE! (story and 3 comments)

Growing disillusionment forces Obama to retry internet tricks
Kingfisher, Thursday, Jan 15 2009, 2:47am
The mainstream has always been SLOW to adapt to the latest technologies; an amusing and highly exploitable fact/situation. Antiquated media modes of communication and moguls too old to change have no answer to the millions of independent digital voices that speak in one voice whenever the need arises. A Perfect Definition of 'Terrorism'
Glenn Greenwald via rialator, Wednesday, Jan 14 2009, 8:07pm
This war on the people of Gaza isn't really about rockets. Nor is it about "restoring Israel's deterrence," as the Israeli press might have you believe. Far more revealing are the words of Moshe Yaalon, then the Israeli Defense Forces chief of staff, in 2002: "The Palestinians must be made to understand in the deepest recesses of their consciousness that they are a defeated people." An argument for Secession
dingo, Tuesday, Jan 13 2009, 8:23pm
The entire world groaned when WAR CRIMINAL Bush insisted, in his last press conference, that he had served his country well and had done a “good job” as president – W-H-A-T!? Furthermore, Cheney supported Bush’s statements with his own divorced from reality, twisted version of history. It’s time for the handcuffs people! The credibility of the ENTIRE nation is at stake – the reality oriented WORLD is fast running out of patience! (story and 1 comment and 1 image)

The Afghan Scam
Ann Jones via quill, Monday, Jan 12 2009, 6:48pm
The first of 20,000 to 30,000 additional U.S. troops are scheduled to arrive in Afghanistan next month to re-win the war George W. Bush neglected to finish in his eagerness to start another one. However, "winning" the military campaign against the Taliban is the lesser half of the story.

Demand accountability or suffer more Fraud
Frank Rich via rialator, Monday, Jan 12 2009, 6:31pm
Three days after the world learned that $50 billion may have disappeared in Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi scheme, The Times led its front page of Dec. 14 with the revelation of another $50 billion rip-off. This time the vanished loot belonged to American taxpayers. That was our collective contribution to the $117 billion spent (as of mid-2008) on Iraq reconstruction — a sinkhole of corruption, cronyism, incompetence and outright theft that epitomized Bush management at home and abroad.

Western war criminals take refuge in denial

Israel's Dress Rehearsal for Lebanon
Mike Whitney via reed, Thursday, Jan 8 2009, 7:57pm
"The raw logic of Israel’s distorted self-image and racist doctrines is exposed beyond confusion by the now-stark reality: the moonscape rubble of once-lovely Lebanese villages; a million desperate people trying to survive Israeli aerial attacks as they carry children and wheel disabled grandparents down cratered roads; limp bodies of children pulled from the dusty basements of crushed buildings. This is the reality of Israel’s national doctrine, the direct outcome of its racist worldview." Virginia Tilley "The Case for Boycotting Israel" in Counterpunch. (story and 1 comment)

Howard displaces Obama in Blair House
quill, Wednesday, Jan 7 2009, 7:58pm
Australia’s Obama-bashing, racist, conservative former PM, John ‘deputy sheriff’ Howard, is currently occupying the traditional premises of the President Elect prior to inauguration, the historic Blair House in Washington. Obama and family have been forced to play second fiddle to Howard who is in Washington to receive an award from Bush. Forcing the President Elect to defer to a former leader of an insignificant little, servile nation of cringing cowards and lackeys is a disgrace – skin colour continues to matter in America it seems! The displacement was clearly intentional; self-confessed racist, John Howard, is well-pleased at the 'honour' accorded him by his partner in crime, G W Bush. However, the shame associated with this despicable act is all America's! (story and 2 images)
