‘TV’ trained Oz police shoot 15yo boy dead
ernie, Friday, Dec 12 2008, 5:05am
Someone forgot to inform Australian police that we do not shoot disturbed teenagers, Aborigines or mentally ill adults waste-deep in water on Bondi Beach; an existing abysmal record our cowardly police can take unjustifiable pride in. (story and 3 comments and 1 image)

Rudd displays real Aussie ‘backbone’ while in Indonesia
barra, Thursday, Dec 11 2008, 9:57pm
None of us imagined in our wildest imaginings that anyone could beat the record of cowardice and servility set by former PM, John ‘rodent’ Howard. However, Kevin ‘custard face’ Rudd, has recently CONFIRMED that he is indeed the most spineless leader Oz has ever known! Our Kevin has set a new benchmark of servility and dog-cowering cowardice, which unfortunately stains ALL Australians everywhere; do us proud Kevin, Oink! (story and 1 image)

The Sons of Cain
finn, Wednesday, Dec 10 2008, 3:36am
It is appropriate that the home of democracy reminds us never to tolerate oppression, violence and corruption from non-representative minority governments that have subverted the democratic process and stolen power. We are all reminded of the price extracted when we fail to be vigilant; the murder of a 15 year-old boy in Greece by the reviled authorities and the one million innocent civilian dead in Iraq are consequences of allowing criminals to seize power and failing to act swiftly to remove them. The horrendous death toll inflicted by America in Iraq is the result of OUR INACTION in the face of FLAGRANT CRIMINAL ACTIVITY. (story and 3 comments and 2 images)

The semiotic ‘burning bush!’
quill, Monday, Dec 8 2008, 6:34pm
In response to authorities shooting dead a (15yo) youth in Athens, Greek anarchists made their sentiments known to the nation via DIRECT ACTION. Demonstrations included setting a large, (capitalist) Xmas tree alight! [At times signs and symbols converge to deliver a wealth of meaning; no further elaboration required; the flaming tree says it all!] (story and 1 image)

US starts New Cold War with Russia
Paul Craig Roberts via reed, Friday, Dec 5 2008, 12:14am
Undeterred by massive budget deficits from wars, a falling economy, and financial bailouts, the US government has managed to start a new cold war with Russia. Last Friday, the Russian military announced that it was developing a new generation of ballistic missiles in response to the US government’s decision to deploy ballistic missile defenses in Poland and the Czech Republic.

Not Good Enough, Barack!
barra, Tuesday, Dec 2 2008, 6:42pm
Obama is the first president to face stark and overwhelming evidence of crimes -- including torture, war crimes and a host of violations relating to various international laws and conventions -- committed by a previous administration. These crimes are not trifling matters and any attempt to avoid dealing with them would forever (historically) stain Obama – a legacy the first black man in the White House ought to be at pains to avoid. Puppet Presidents and Robot Soldiers – only in America!
nano, Monday, Dec 1 2008, 9:29am
In a press release, we are sure the Pentagon and White House will soon regret, America’s genius military technology developers revealed their feeble (insane) attempts to legitimise war with “moral” robots -- for Pete’s sake! America seems to have forgotten that the most immoral activity any society could engage in is WAR! However, that oversight is understandable as the USA is currently the world’s leading genocidal nation -- over one million dead Iraqi civilians testify to the fact! (story and 1 comment)

A small and largely unnoticed spat among the transition planners for the president-elect, Barack Obama, broke out last week. The SLAUGHTER of INNOCENTS and the rise of Terror
gan, Friday, Nov 28 2008, 10:28pm
The Clinton presidency, which is directly responsible for the fragmentation of the Balkans, destabilising African nations -- especially Somalia, Sudan, Congo, Rwanda -- and imposing the now infamous child-killing embargos on pre-invasion Iraq, paved a course for the next (neocon) administration to follow; which it did but with even greater zeal and disregard for international law and convention than the Clinton administration. CEOs 'cashed out' prior to economic crisis
Tom Eley via reed, Friday, Nov 28 2008, 7:14pm
Balzac’s maxim that “behind every great fortune lies a great crime” may yet prove a fitting epitaph for American capitalism. A recent survey by the Wall Street Journal reveals that CEOs at major US financial and real estate firms converted tens of millions of dollars of overvalued stock into cash prior to the eruption of the current financial crisis, even as many of their corporations approached the precipice.

Bones [and Skeletons]
John S. Hatch via reed, Friday, Nov 28 2008, 12:54am
American forces prevented 'military-age' males (roughly 12-65 years old) from leaving the city and then declared a 'free-fire zone' on anyone remaining. They used white phosphorus and thermobaric weapons. They used snipers against unarmed civilians. They killed, and killed, and killed. It was like Poppy's 'Highway of Death', but worse. Congratulations, Junior, you finally outdid the old man. Not even animals were spared. (story and 1 comment)
