Addressing America's "Deeper Malignancies"
Walter C. Uhler via reed, Tuesday, Jun 17 2008, 9:20pm
If you want to know what's wrong with the foreign policy establishment in the United States, look no further than Condoleezza Rice's article, "The New American Realism," published in the July/August 2008 issue of Foreign Affairs." Not only has the Council on Foreign Relations spread its pages wide open for an infamous interventionist -- a lying and deceitful enabler of the Bush administration's illegal, immoral unprovoked invasion of Iraq - it also readmitted Ms. Rice without requiring anything resembling a mea culpa for the crimes against humanity that have lowered her, the Bush administration and the United States to the depths of moral disrepute around the world.

Stating the OBVIOUS!
AAP report via reed, Tuesday, Jun 17 2008, 6:01am
"... lawyers for Dr Haneef said the involvement of Mr Howard's department raised the possibility the former prime minister may have colluded with his immigration minister to create a political storm similar to the Tampa controversy which helped the coalition win the 2001 election." America/NATO: Failure at every turn
major mitchell, Sunday, Jun 15 2008, 12:03am
The extremely successful attack on a Kandahar prison by the Taliban this week (see link) highlights a fact that America and its few allies would rather not face – and that is the world’s ‘greatest military alliance’ is a fucking joke! Open your eyes to the REALITY not the spin!
What has occurred since Bush and his allies embarked on their demented PNAC strategies to conquer the world, they have FAILED MISERABLY? America/capitalism is plunging into an economic and political vortex from which it cannot recover, as has become excruciatingly evident to even the most demented fantacist in Washington today! Lisbon Is Dead
Mike Whitney via reed, Sunday, Jun 15 2008, 12:00am
On Friday, Ireland delivered a knockout punch to European elites and corporatists and shattered their plan for an EU Superstate. The so-called Lisbon Treaty was nothing more than a repackaging of the European Constitution that was defeated by French and Dutch voters in 2005. The treaty was loaded with the typical "democratic" gobbledygook to conceal the vicious neo-liberal policies at its heart. If it had passed, the treaty would have paved the way for greater privatization of public services, diminished workers rights, less state control over trade policies and civil liberties, and an aggressive plan to militarize Europe. Ireland's entire political and corporate class stood foursquare behind the treaty, but the Irish people shrugged off the fear-mongering and bogus promises of prosperity and voted No. The referendum results showed 53.4% voted No, while 46.6% voted Yes. Despite the massive public relations campaign; the vote wasn't even close.

A Meeting With Che Guevara
Gajendra Singh via reed, Saturday, Jun 14 2008, 10:50am
Che Guevara;"an inspiration for every human being who loves freedom" -- Nelson Mandela.
Che Guevara is "not only an intellectual but also the most complete human being of our age" -- Jean-Paul Sartre.
"The first thing to note is that in my son's veins flowed the blood of the Irish rebels, the Spanish conquistadors and the Argentinean patriots. Evidently Che inherited some of the features of our restless ancestors. There was something in his nature, which drew him to distant wanderings, dangerous adventures and new ideas. -- Ernesto Guevara Lynch, Che's Father (story and 2 images and 1 attached file)

Shifting power and US delusions
dusan, Friday, Jun 13 2008, 9:30pm
The USA is broke – that’s the truth, almost all the money and energy resources of the world are in ASIA, Africa and the Middle East, respectively. That is why Bush is running around the world attempting to gain support. The USA is out of the picture in more ways than one. Eight years of misguided (deplorable) foreign policy and military aggression have lost it the little support it once had. The future for the US is almost cast in stone – FAILURE at every turn! The last area of US superiority is the military and history dictates that ALL would-be empire nations that attempted to force the issue were destroyed by other less powerful but united in purpose nations! Russia fails to secure Kosovo
RIA via goran, Thursday, Jun 12 2008, 11:21am
The Russian circus bear growls but fails to act on its promise to Serbia to ensure territorial integrity regarding Kosovo. If Russia fails to act the cost of losing Kosovo may be greater for Russia than for Serbia. Kosovo remains legally Serbian and at Serbia’s request a joint military base project, involving Russia, China and Serbia could begin immediately. The base would ensure stability in the region, which has been under the illegitimate rule of Albanian organised crime figures and separatists since the NATO bombing.
International law MUST BE OBSERVED. All Albanian criminals masquerading as government ministers must be surrendered to the authorities to ascertain whether war crimes charges could be laid. This issue is not complex, it simply requires ACTION! (story and 3 images)

Top court allows Guantanamo prisoners' appeals
James Vicini via reed, Thursday, Jun 12 2008, 10:01am
Is it possible the American Constitution, which Bush views as a "piece of paper," retains some meaning? Have the spineless American judiciary finally discovered they have laws to uphold? The most subversive regime in American history remains in office after countless exposures of their crimes. We will reserve our judgement until the flow-on effect occurs. Nevertheless, today's decision re-affirming the right of habeas corpus for ALL detainees is a small step in the right direction. But let's not forget the war criminals in the Whitehouse -- surrender Bush and his fellow felons to the Hague ICC.. Faith restored! Ed.

Bilderberg in a nutshell
Kingfisher, Wednesday, Jun 11 2008, 11:12pm
The secretive Bilderberg group is the focus of numerous conspiracy theories and other wild imaginings; however, it is nothing more than a group of Zionists, Bankers, Industrialists, Monarchs (believe it or not) former and current politicians ALL OF WHOM HAIL FROM THE WEST! Russia, India, Brazil, China and numerous other nations are not represented! An absurd situation as China and other emerged nations now dwarf the influence and power these European monarchs and American capitalists imagine they possess. Put simply, the Bilderberg group is an ANACHRONISM in today’s rapidly changing world. (story and 1 image)

Draconian measures to protect 'copyright'
Graeme Philipson via reed, Wednesday, Jun 11 2008, 7:29pm
THE forces of reaction are fighting back. As they often do, they are carrying out their planning in secret, in the knowledge that if more people knew of their activities they would not be allowed to get away with it. The US (surprise, surprise) has circulated a draft "Discussion Paper on a Possible Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement" (ACTA) for the next G8 meeting, in Tokyo in July. The full text of the document has been published on Wikileaks (wikileaks.org). (story and 1 comment and 2 attached files)

No sooner had the Bilderberg group completed its latest ‘social gathering’ than their mass media informs us that ‘donors’ will pledge $15 billion to ‘rebuild’ Afghanistan – morons, you really have missed the point! Afghanis are not so stupid; they are acutely aware of the forces that destroyed their nation and continue to kill their children! Are U.S. and NATO idiots finally learning what Alexander, British Imperialists and Russia all learnt the hard way – nobody takes Afghanistan on the ground! (story and 1 comment)

Dalai Fraud lands in Oz
fish, Tuesday, Jun 10 2008, 9:21pm
The meat-eating Dalai fraud has landed in Sydney and is no doubt tucking into an Aussie steak sandwich or perhaps local hosts have introduced this brazen religious hypocrite to the famous Oz mixed (meat) grill -- political pursuits require meat as fuel! However, anyone familiar with Buddhist philosophy would tell you – ‘you can’t have your Buddhist void and play politics too.’ The two incompatible pursuits are mutually exclusive but that ‘small’ matter hasn’t deterred our meat-eating Tibetan visitor – what a laugh, my dog’s hind leg is straighter than this man’s character! Former Oil Minister blows lid of orgy of profiteering
finch, Tuesday, Jun 10 2008, 11:11am
Isam Chalabi, former Iraqi oil minister, cites speculation and banking interests as the principal causes of today’s inflated oil prices. He dismissed the notion that current inflated prices are the result of supply shortages. “The question of prices today is not related to supply and demand fundamentals; everybody knows that,” he said in a recent interview on the ABC’s AM program.

The events of recent years indicate that the world is wising up to and becoming less intimidated by Washington's overarching ambition for world dominance. Latin America is increasingly attempting to escape the empire's clutches. Leaders keenly aware of how US imperialism works and determined to keep it out of their own country are in power in Venezuela, Uruguay, Ecuador, Bolivia, Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, and perhaps the latest addition, Paraguay.
