Clinton reveals sordid but TRUE American Character
peptide, Friday, May 23 2008, 10:01pm
Did we all notice how quick America, France and other western nations were to send naval “assets” to the coast off Burma to ‘assist’ in the humanitarian crisis left in the wake of a horrendously destructive, global warming induced, giant cyclone that devastated the rice bowl of Burma? Is America and other affluent, energy hungry nations rushing to compensate Burma for destabilising the earth’s climate? Not on your life! (story and 1 comment and 2 images)

George W Bush Authorized 9/11 Attacks Says Government Insider
Alex Jones, Friday, May 23 2008, 9:14am
Keep in mind when reading this, that the man being interviewed is no two-bit internet conspiracy buff.
Stanley Hilton was a senior advisor to Sen Bob Dole (R) and has personally known Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz for decades. This courageous man has risked his professional reputation, and possibly his life, to get this information out to people.
The following is from his latest visit to Alex Jones' radio show.
Note: All honor to Stanley Hilton for risking his life so that we may know the truth of 9/11.
The Bush Junta Unmasked
"This (9/11) was all planned. This was a government-ordered operation. Bush personally signed the order. He personally authorized the attacks. He is guilty of treason and mass murder." --Stanley Hilton

For His Treatment of Children in the ‘War on Terror,’ Bush Is a War Criminal
Dave Lindorff via reed, Friday, May 23 2008, 8:36am
Surely nothing that President Bush has done in his two wretched terms of office — not the invasion and destruction of Iraq, not the overturning of the five-centuries-old tradition of habeas corpus, not his authorization and encouragement of torture, not his campaign of domestic spying — nothing, can compare in its ugliness as his approval, as commander in chief, of the imprisoning of over 2500 children.

Ill-advised Oz PM weighs into Art debate
finch, Thursday, May 22 2008, 10:14pm
The Australian Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, is a known media prancer/show pony; he rarely (never) makes decisions without considering the level of political gain derived from media exploitation. However, the media is a two-edged sword and Rudd may have just inflicted a deep wound on himself in an attempt to capitalise on a controversial photographic exhibition by world-renowned Australian photographer, Bill Henson. Sowing the wind
nano, Tuesday, May 20 2008, 11:04pm
Over twenty years ago (take note Al) an Australian commercial channel aired a program on the impending destructive effects of pollution on the climate and the environment. It was a measured, rational, non-sensationalist but heavily supported with scientific data presentation. It detailed the effects of global warming on major ocean currents and the dire consequences for North-Western Europe; it highlighted the potential wholesale destruction of sensitive coral reefs and the maritime ecology. It referred to biological indicators, stressed amphibians, frogs and the disturbed migration pattern of birds. All evident at the time – 20 years ago! But the most alarming indicator was accelerated glacial melting/receding -- high mountain glaciers feed the world’s largest food producing river systems! (story and 2 comments and 2 images)

The Real Enemy
evo, Tuesday, May 20 2008, 9:17am
The world today is awash with misinformation, disinformation, disinfected news stories, simplistic solutions, outrageous propaganda and the illusion that warring/opposing forces are distinct. Bush, his neo-cons, Bin laden, Al-Qaeda, Christian, Jewish and Muslim fundamentalists ALL have one thing in common -- they are all CONSERVATIVE! (story and 2 comments)

A Two-State Solution for the United States and Israel
David Bromwich via reed, Sunday, May 18 2008, 10:26pm
We are slowly leaving the Bush presidency. Can we leave it fast enough for the safety of the world? George W. Bush thought it would be a good idea to help Israel celebrate its 60th birthday. So he showed up to celebrate, in spite of the gross contradiction his presence there offered against an appearance of impartiality in the negotiations between Israel and Palestine -- an accord whose success the president has said he intends to show as the diplomatic legacy of eight years in office. Israel must be held to same nuclear scrutiny as Iran
Joe Parko via reed, Sunday, May 18 2008, 9:58pm
First we went after nonexistent nuclear weapons in Iraq; now we are consumed with the possibility that Iran might develop nuclear weapons in the future. Hillary Clinton declared she would obliterate Iran if it launched a nuclear strike on Israel -- nothwithstanding it LACKS that capability! But what nobody wants to talk about is the fact that Israel has had a secret nuclear weapons program for more than 30 years and has produced well over 200 nuclear bombs!

Celebration of a spineless Nation
finch, Sunday, May 18 2008, 10:28am
When our previous colonial overlord, Britain, required a site to test its nuclear weapons, Australia was chosen; the then conservative Australian government was only too happy to accommodate England and poison/irradiate South Australia. Scant regard was given to our service personnel and the local Aborigines, as the many resulting deaths from cancer testify. (story and 1 comment)

Israel Address: Bush reveals the psychopathology of his America
jan, Friday, May 16 2008, 1:40am
The Gettysburg address it isn’t! George ‘dubya’ Bush, the most criminally incompetent President the U.S. has ever known, delivered an address to the Israeli Knesset Thursday 15/5/08, and what a pathetic piece of drivel, fantasy and diatribe it was! (story and 1 comment and 1 image)

Israel/America: the flea wagging the dog
fish, Thursday, May 15 2008, 12:07am
In lands far removed from the intrigues of American politics, the lopsided relationship and disproportionate power that Zionist Israel wields over gentile America appears absolutely grotesque; how is it that the world’s most powerful nation continues to kowtow to the wishes of tiny, extremely troublesome, Israel? It presents a most extraordinary sight from afar! Perhaps the advantage of a distant vantage may assist in obtaining an objective appreciation of the REAL reasons behind this absurd relationship. The Tortured Law on Torture
Robert Scheer via reed, Wednesday, May 14 2008, 7:19am
Ah yes, those torture confessions have proved so useful. That, at least, was the claim of our president in justifying one of the most egregious assaults ever on this nation’s commitment to the rule of law. But now comes news that charges have been dropped against the so-called Sept. 11 attacks’ 20th hijacker, one of dozens so identified, because the “evidence” he supplied under torture and later recanted is not credible enough to go to trial.

Bush Tour Diminished by Hezbollah Show of Force
Jim Lobe via rialator, Wednesday, May 14 2008, 7:06am
WASHINGTON, May 12 (IPS) - While this week's trip by President George W. Bush to Israel, Saudi Arabia and Egypt was never conceived as a triumphant "victory lap" around the region, the swift rout of U.S.-backed forces by Lebanon's Hezbollah Friday has provided yet another vivid illustration of the rapid decline in Washington's influence in the Middle East during his tenure. Serbian elections: Russian ally full of shit!
petrovic, Tuesday, May 13 2008, 5:01am
There is no shortage of commentary regarding the Serbian elections nor is there any shortage of misinformation. Western ‘news’ media were quick to announce a ‘victory’ for the pro-Western party led by Tadic; however, while Tadic outpolled his primary nationalist opponent he is clearly unable to govern in his own right, a minor fact the western ‘news’ media ‘overlooked!’ (story and 2 comments)

Rallying Serbs from The Hague
Christine Spolar -- intro 'dragan', Saturday, May 10 2008, 9:59pm
The most strategically vital region in Europe has always been the Balkans -- even more so today for energy reasons. Often unstated but undeniable, the most powerful and enduring Balkan nation is Serbia! The world is about to get a taste of the indomitable Serbian spirit once again. The monumental mistake the West/America made in the region was to target Serbia as an enemy and install organised Muslim criminals as an (illegitimate) government in Kosovo.
All attempts to illegally appropriate Kosovo are doomed to fail; the elimination of all Serbia and its people must necessarily precede the theft of Kosovo! If it’s war you want, then it’s war you will get!
Remove all foreign occupation forces from the Serbian province of Kosovo, including all occupying military bases or we will remove them from OUR territories – who do you think you’re fucking with? We have fought fascist forces on numerous occasions and prevailed and we will prevail again! How dare you attempt to steal our sacred Kosovo!
