Holocaust Iraq: An inconvenient Truth
fish, Monday, May 21 2007, 10:55pm
Today, the American public is no longer able to claim ignorance over the real cost of filling their SUVs with gas nor are they able to deny their status as a hypocritical, ungodly, pariah nation. Few people anywhere are unaware of America’s dirty little grab for the resources of weaker nations. For every full tank of gas INNOCENT human blood has been spilt, particularly the blood of those least able to defend themselves, CHILDREN. When faced with undeniable and unpleasant realities Americans seek refuge in the unreality of their televisions or other distracting entertainments. The cost of the American lifestyle today is served to local populations for breakfast, however, the media is careful to neatly package all distasteful material in justifications, propaganda and flagrant lies (that have no currency anywhere but America).

Al-Qaeda’s Waiting Game
Michael Scheuer via rialator, Sunday, May 20 2007, 8:36pm
Americans tend to forget that while we were surprised by the 9/11 attacks, al-Qaeda was not. The attacks’ exact date was known to bin Laden and two or three others only six days before Sept. 11, 2001, but they had long known the attacks were coming. Thus al-Qaeda was able to move important operatives, archives, material, and other assets out of Afghanistan in advance. (story and 1 comment)

dingo, Sunday, May 20 2007, 12:33pm
We thank National Security correspondent to the Australian Broadcasting Commission (‘our’ ABC) Leigh Sales, for revealing her flagrant bias in relation to the David Hicks case. We were almost tempted to read her book, “Detainee 002 …”, until today’s extremely revealing report. (story and 1 image)

The Art of Flower Arranging
gan, Thursday, May 17 2007, 6:31pm
The uninformed are rejoicing over the forced resignation of Paul (bouquet of flowers) Wolfowitz from the World (US) Bank; the resignation of Tony (45 minutes) Blair as British prime minister; the foregone demise of George (WMD, mission accomplished) Bush and the likely elimination of John (aluminium tubing) Howard as Australian prime minister. However, rejoicing may be premature as the gangrenous infection in the body of humanity has not been completely excised. (story and 2 images)

What’s So Funny about Peace, Love and Understanding?
Elizabeth DiNovella via rialator, Saturday, May 12 2007, 11:10pm
When it was announced that the Dalai Lama was coming to Madison in May, a few of my friends snatched up the pricey tickets right away. I had heard the Dalai Lama speak five years ago during his last visit, and it was so difficult to hear him that I decided to stay out of the ticket-buying frenzy this time around. But when a friend of mine (a Maoist no less!) called me last Friday morning to offer me free tickets to the public talk that afternoon, I couldn’t resist.

Tim Johnson via rialator, Saturday, May 12 2007, 10:53pm

Bush's Zombie Shuffles Off
Tariq Ali via rialator, Thursday, May 10 2007, 10:11am
Tony Blair's success was limited to winning three general elections in a row. A second-rate actor, he turned out to be a crafty and avaricious politician, but without much substance; bereft of ideas he eagerly grasped and tried to improve upon the legacy of Margaret Thatcher. But though in many ways Blair's programme has been a euphemistic, if bloodier, version of Thatcher's, the style of their departures is very different. Thatcher's overthrow by her fellow-Conservatives was a matter of high drama: an announcement outside the Louvre's glass pyramid during the Paris Congress brokering the end of the Cold War; tears; a crowded House of Commons. The nature of God – and I ought to Know!
major mitchell, Tuesday, May 8 2007, 2:36pm
[No apologies for the title, as it applies to everyone.] In today’s world far too many killers and murderers are utilising religion as a method of social manipulation, control and (believe it if you would face the reality of your ‘religion’) to JUSTIFY MURDER, THEFT and WAR! If that in itself doesn’t sound an alarm in the heads of all devotees of the ONE nameless, peerless, INFINITE God of ALL, then please go for a walk or entertain yourself with something else, this paper is NOT for you! Now, having been given up to the US by former justice minister Chris Ellison, Griffiths, 44, is in a Virginia cell, facing up to 10 years in an American prison after a guilty plea late last month. (story and 1 image)

IMF and World Bank Face Declining Authority as Venezuela Announces Withdrawal
Mark Weisbrot via rialator, Friday, May 4 2007, 5:06pm
Venezuela’s decision this week to pull out of the IMF and the World Bank will be seen in the United States as just another example of the ongoing feud between Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and the Bush Administration. But it is likely to be viewed differently in the rest of the world, and could have an impact on both institutions, whose power and legitimacy in developing countries has been waning steadily in recent years. Dick Cheney's Banker Grantham Sees World Bubble
William Pesek via rialator, Thursday, May 3 2007, 10:32pm
May 2 (Bloomberg) -- You'd expect someone whom the famously dour Dick Cheney entrusts with millions of his dollars might have a gloomy view of the world. Jeremy Grantham does indeed.
"From Indian antiquities to modern Chinese art; from land in Panama to Mayfair; from forestry, infrastructure and the junkiest bonds to mundane blue chips -- it's bubble time,'' he writes in Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo & Co.'s latest quarterly letter titled, "The First Truly Global Bubble.'' The first refugees of global warming
Laurie Goering via rialator, Wednesday, May 2 2007, 12:25pm
ANTARPARA, Bangladesh -- Muhammad Ali, a wiry 65-year-old, has never driven a car, run an air conditioner or done much of anything that produces greenhouse gases. But on a warming planet, he is on the verge of becoming a climate refugee.
In the past 10 years the farmer has had to tear down and move his tin-and-bamboo house five times to escape the encroaching waters of the huge Jamuna River, swollen by severe monsoons that scientists believe are caused by global warming and greater glacier melt in the Himalayas.

Occupation Forces support Afghan Narcotics Trade
Prof. Michel Chossudovsky via rialator, Wednesday, May 2 2007, 11:51am
The occupation forces in Afghanistan are supporting the drug trade, which brings between 120 and 194 billion dollars of revenues to organized crime, intelligence agencies and Western financial institutions. The proceeds of this lucrative multibllion dollar contraband are deposited in Western banks. Almost the totality of revenues accrue to corporate interests and criminal syndicates outside Afghanistan. Asymmetry delivers Victory
naxal, Saturday, Apr 28 2007, 3:11pm
From Sun tzu to today’s flying LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam) the fundamental decisive factors determining the outcome of war have never changed – though some ‘superpowers’ would have us all believe otherwise. The determining factors are and have always been, intelligence, skill, ingenuity and tactics – all other factors, including high technology, are secondary. The outcome of War is determined by and anchored in the warrior. (story and 1 comment and 2 images)

Wonderland Down Under: Snoop Dogg refused visa
dingo, Thursday, Apr 26 2007, 10:25pm
Internationally known racist, war criminal, Iraqi holocaust denier and coward prime minister of Australia, John Howard stated that [black] entertainer Snoop Dogg had been banned from entering Australia for “sound reasons … I have to be careful what I say in these matters but he has been ... well there are certain judgments that are made on certain advice that I can't go into, but the reasons for banning him are sound," said Howard. Perhaps the black rapper is also a HIV carrier and votes Democrat! Howard recently levelled more criticism at US Democrats in relation to the war in Iraq. The absurdity and hypocrisy of Howard’s behaviour is reaching levels unimagined by even his most fervent critics. (story and 1 image)
