text The Secret State's Mad Scheme to Control the Internet Tom Burghardt via Kismo, Sunday, Jun 27 2010, 9:13pm
Prussian military theorist Carl von Clausewitz once famously wrote that "war is the continuation of politics by other means." A century later, radical French philosopher Michel Foucault turned Clausewitz on his head and declared that "politics is the continuation of war by other means." In our topsy-turvy world where truth and lies coexist equally and sociopathic business elites reign supreme, it would hardly be a stretch to theorize that cyber war is the continuation of parapolitical crime by other means.

PDF Document Wikileaks Soldier Reveals "360 Rotational Fire" Orders to Kill Civilians Ralph Lopez via gan, Friday, Jun 18 2010, 8:53pm
We can thank the arrogant, inept yanks for making plain the REAL state of political ‘play’ today; the USA is now, and has been for some decades, completely controlled by Banks, Corporations and Global Transnationals – as are most other western ‘democracies.’ With that FACT now firmly established by a PENTAGON release of a mineral wealth commercial assessment for invaded Afghanistan, it is now impossible to view American invasive warfare as anything other than what it is, criminal appropriation, mass murder and PLUNDER. A direct link to the culpable has also been established; a bold line of responsibility connects today's wars with the Boardrooms of the largest Corporations of the World. [Dragging reprehensible, murdering, psychopathic EXECUTIVES to the gallows, after due legal process, would be a MATTER OF COURSE -- inevitable!] Ed. (story and 1 attached file)

text Canada: A Democracy in Crisis Murray Dobbin via stan, Sunday, Jun 13 2010, 10:02pm
Canada is in the midst of a crisis in democracy unique in its history. There is simply no other historical example that one can compare it to. It is multi-faceted and it affects every aspect of our national politics and political discourse. It is inexorably eroding the political fabric of the country and therefore our viability as a democratic nation.

text Iran and the Balkans: Russia Risks Making the Same Mistakes Pyotr Iskenderov via dragan, Saturday, Jun 12 2010, 8:39pm
The recent UN Security Council resolution slapping new sanctions on Iran is likely to become the worst defeat suffered by the Russian diplomacy over the past years. Its negative impact may be persistent and more serious than that of the proclamation of Kosovo's independence to which Russia continues objecting. What we are witnessing seems to be an unexpected recurrence of the syndrome of unilateral concessions to the West which eroded Russia's international politics, especially its Balkan part, in the 90's. Following the Western lead in dealing with Iran, Russia is risking to lose both its positions in a region much more extensive than the Balkans and its hard-earned key role in the raising multipolar world.

Julian Assange image Be Our Guest, Julian! Raffi Khatchadourian via Kismo, Friday, Jun 11 2010, 10:38am
The house on Grettisgata Street, in Reykjavik, is a century old, small and white, situated just a few streets from the North Atlantic. The shifting northerly winds can suddenly bring ice and snow to the city, even in springtime, and when they do a certain kind of silence sets in. This was the case on the morning of March 30th, when a tall Australian man named Julian Paul Assange, with gray eyes and a mop of silver-white hair, arrived to rent the place. Assange was dressed in a gray full-body snowsuit, and he had with him a small entourage. “We are journalists,” he told the owner of the house. Eyjafjallajökull had recently begun erupting, and he said, “We’re here to write about the volcano.” (story and 6 comments and 2 images)

text All Lies Mike Whitney via stele, Tuesday, Jun 8 2010, 10:29pm
Israel has become Myanmar on the Jordan. Every new act of violence deepens the paranoia, the resentment, the isolation. The killing of 9 peace activists aboard the Mavi Marmara was celebrated in Tel Aviv--another blood victory against the 'terrorists', another triumph against those who would harm Israel. Heads of state around the world have condemned the butchery, but Israelis have shrugged off the criticism. They think that support for the activists is anti-Semitism. They think that food and medicine are weapons that will be used by Hamas against Israel. This is madness, but madness has consequences. Nine people are dead.

text Some Big Lies of Science Denis G. Rancourt via reed, Monday, Jun 7 2010, 7:03am
“The majority of politicians, on the evidence available to us, are interested not in truth but in power and in the maintenance of that power. To maintain that power it is essential that people remain in ignorance, that they live in ignorance of the truth, even the truth of their own lives. What surrounds us therefore is a vast tapestry of lies, upon which we feed.” – Harold Pinter, Nobel Lecture (Literature), 2005

text Irish ship sails for Gaza in defiance of Criminal Blockade Stephen C. Webster via ryall, Tuesday, Jun 1 2010, 9:59pm
In DEFIANCE of U.S. supported Israeli crimes on land and sea, the IRISH ship MV Rachel Corrie continues to sail for Gaza with relief aid. The WORLD, now intolerant of the appalling crimes committed against humanity by ISRAEL/AMERICA, two ROGUE nations that mistakenly believe they are somehow ‘special’ and above the law, watches with keen interest! We offer, from Australia, our whole hearted support for the brave crew and passengers of this ‘little’ IRISH vessel, which continues to fly the ‘flag’ of FREEDOM, JUSTICE AND HUMANITY for us ALL. text U.S. Cyber Command: trailing world by a decade! Rick Rozoff via Kismo, Thursday, May 27 2010, 10:27am
Interesting article but America is 10 years too late! A 10 year gap in the digital 'world' CANNOT be closed.

The leading 'nation' in digital warfare is unquestionably, Russia; however, many groups equal and in some areas eclipse Russia's awesome expertise/strength.

The hard reality is this doodles, YOU ARE GOING DOWN, as sure as the setting sun! Almost every commercial corporate (server) network has been compromised; military systems offer more challenges but by no means offer unassailable resistance. They are compromised soon after hardening and re-hardening -- such is the nature of this war, doodles. But give it your best shot, you lame, retarded, backward, fuck's.

Elite hackers and exceptional individuals do not truck with nations that slaughter millions of innocent civilians, they mobilse against them. Do your best with the fifth rate morons you are able to obtain via standard means.

As for us -- We are Legion (International) we are ONE.

Pathetic, lackey, criminal image Obama's Drones, indiscriminate killing and War Crimes Brian Cloughley via reed, Sunday, May 23 2010, 8:49pm
Regardless of the view one takes of Drone warfare it remains a heinous INDISCRIMINATE and CRIMINAL killing method. An in-character 'weapon' of the PROFIT-ONLY-DRIVEN U.S. Corporate ruled military.

A case for TREASON (elitist unrepresentative government) and War Crimes (indiscriminate killing of civilians) against every leader that participates in America's illegal wars goes begging DAILY! Legal advocates advise that such cases would have extremely high chances of success. How much longer will the oppressed people of THE WORLD tolerate overt, BRAZEN, CRIMINAL GOVERNMENT and MINORITY CORPORATE RULE at their huge expense?

text What's in a Word? Pierre Tristam via quill, Tuesday, May 11 2010, 7:03am
The Pew Research Center for the People and the Press just released a survey testing reactions to political rhetoric—whether people react positively or negatively to words like “progressive” or “socialism” or phrases like “states’ rights” or “civil liberties.” The results were not surprising in some regards. Say the phrases “civil rights,” “civil liberties” and “states’ rights,” and between 87 percent and 77 percent of people respond positively. Even the word “progressive,” which the right-wing machinery on Fox and friends is doing its best to turn into a slander, gets a 68 percent positive response, including 56 percent of Republicans.

Rudd and Conroy image The Appalling Incompetence of Rudd and Conroy Kismo, Tuesday, May 4 2010, 8:51am
Rudd’s communications minister Stephen Conroy was forced to admit, in Parliament, that the $24 (wasted) million, ISP filter plan could easily and LEGALLY be circumvented. Conroy admitted that circumvention techniques – VPN and Proxy server methods -- had been demonstrated to him personally at Enex Testlab in Melbourne. Conroy confirmed that no legal measures would be applied to ISPs to prohibit the use of the above circumvention methods – so what’s the point of the expensive (now failed) filter plan I hear you say? Well, ask the most policy failed, financially wasteful PM we’ve ever had, Kevin ‘hair dryer’ Rudd. (story and 1 image)
