Tibet: play it again, George!

Right on cue! The current duet performance of Kevin Rudd and the Dalai Lama on the world stage betrays a carefully choreographed strategy designed to subvert China’s rapidly increasing power and influence in the world.

Kevin Rudd -- show pony
Kevin Rudd -- show pony

China was caught completely flat-footed in a perfectly timed political attack. Initial reactions from China asking for “understanding,” on the threshold of the Olympics, betrays an incredibly naïve attitude to global politics. Did the Chinese really expect America to play fair? Global politics is a dirty business, especially when a once powerful nation is in decline! The real ‘game’ has only one rule and that is, there are no rules! The sooner China learns what it should already know the sooner it can resume its meteoric rise as a formidable superpower!

Regardless of which polarised view one takes on Kevin Rudd’s undiplomatic comments to Chinese leaders there is no doubt that his behaviour and statements are not in Australia’s best interests. Rudd seemed more concerned with his performance and pleasing the Americans than with Australia’s best interests!

Professional analysts are aware that Rudd is a narcissistic, little show pony, but few – including this writer -- imagined he would risk Australia’s economic welfare for the sake of prancing in the spotlight. It is now clear the ‘show’ takes precedence over the nation -- and everything else!

The mass media (see link) is at pains to present Rudd as some sort of hero not the irresponsible Prime Minister he really is! We should not forget Rudd’s lunch (job interview) in New York with Rupert Murdoch; big business is well pleased with their new golden-haired boy – should anyone really be surprised at Rudd’s present behaviour?

A popular Australian current affairs program, Lateline, featured two China ‘experts,’ praising “Kevin’s” performance in China. Two experts would usually indicate a lively debate or at least opposing views, however, these two ‘experts’ shared a similar, rabid, anti-Chinese perspective. A more balanced presentation would have been far more effective than the over-the-top anti-China exercise presented.

Oblivious to the fact the Bush regime is envious of China’s centralist model, one ‘expert’ overflowed with disdain for China and cited Bush’s America as a preferable model – give me a break! The whole charade, presented by Leigh Sales, amounted to nothing more than a feeble propaganda exercise.

China is now acutely aware that it is under attack from America and its lackeys. Tibet remains Chinese sovereign territory; notwithstanding it is under siege from the West. Tibet is strategically vital and resource rich; we have not seen the last of turmoil in this region!

Perhaps China should have learnt from the fate of its ally Serbia. China’s failure to support its ally in the Balkans has invited the present assault on its own sovereign territory. Another lesson in global politics for Mr Han!

A biased mass media serves to distract from reality regardless of the quality of a presentation. The western viewing audience seems blissfully unaware that neither Australia nor America is in any position to accuse anyone of human rights violations! These two nations were at the forefront of the illegal, pre-emptive invasion of Iraq, which resulted in over one million innocent civilian DEATHS, four million displaced persons and a ruined state -- the moral high ground is a vacant lot!

The Dalai Fraud fares no better than his political friends; his recent statement of 'three hundred' killed (unconfirmed) in Tibetan protests was eagerly broadcast by the same media outlet that presented the China ‘experts!’ ‘His holiness’ seems to practise a peculiar form of partial Buddhism! Shall we compare three hundred with one million dead Iraqi civilians and millions more innocents killed in Africa?
