Those who cried “terrorism” (9/11-Anthrax) are now crying Swine Flu!
by finn Monday, Apr 27 2009, 11:18am
international / social/political / commentary

Memories of arch-criminal, Donald Rumsfeld, profiteering on “Tamiflu” immediately come to mind amidst the Swine Flu hysteria currently sweeping the globe – you will note in exactly the same mass-media-driven way as did the (Tamiflu-selling) NON-EVENT, bird flu hysteria!

Professional analysts are trained never to take anything at face value; however, today large sections of the population are taking a jaundiced view of government alarmist tactics – don’t these people scare anymore? Well, yes but not with tired and previously exposed routines! Now think about it!

Governments that protect KNOWN WAR CRIMINALS and TORTURERS have a MAJOR CREDIBILITY PROBLEM as do leaders that implement the reverse of what they promised prior to taking office – thanks suckers!  So it’s hardly surprising these types no longer engender confidence in the masses! Drastic, alarmist strategies are now required to manage the population!

Managing the population ain’t what it used to be, is it, Karl?  There’s a price to everything and short term players never anticipate long term consequences, such as disillusionment, cynicism and disenfranchisement!

In the prevailing climate of scepticism and disillusionment extreme measures must be taken in order to steer public consciousness in a particular direction.  One of those ‘measures’ is the fear associated with highly contagious, potentially lethal, diseases!

Surprise after (Straussian) surprise, what do we have today saturating the mass media, hysteria inducing fear of a ‘lethal’ Swine Flu pandemic – accident? Not likely!

I have chosen one from many articles attempting to alarm the population. [There’s just too much public pressure to arrest TORTURERS and WAR CRIMINALS; would someone get these people off my back and steal page one in the process!]

Note the tone of ‘experts’ offering their opinions:

“One expert says humans are unlikely to have much natural immunity to the new strain of flu ..” it’s time to start pooping your pants, sheeple!

“A microbiology and immunology expert at James Cook University, Dr Graham Burgess, says it came from a pig and also has traces of a bird virus.”

"It's no big surprise, in fact what we knew is that we were overdue for a pandemic …

It looks like this one has actually possibly been a pig that's been infected at some stage with a pig virus and a chicken virus and then perhaps later on been infected with a human virus and a pig virus, and it's grabbed genes from each of them and put them together to make a brand new virus." A very good argument could also be made regarding highly mixed gene structures and LAB CULTIVATION, but we are offering no expert opinion nor are we proffering conspiracy theories; nevertheless it is a very unusual virus, once burnt .. as they say!

Dr Burgess says if the virus reaches Australia, there will be little to stop it spreading. [That is a very big call for a scientist to make without incentive of some sort but far be it from me to make accusations – how many millions did Rumsfeld make with his shares in Tamilflu, again?]

“One of the things is this one probably has some of the genes that makes it efficient to grow in humans but the outside of the virus has got some genes that make it a little bit different to the viruses that we've used in our vaccines in the past or the people in Australia have experienced in the past."   Some would say more evidence of LAB CULTIVATION/manipulation!

But you make up your own mind, link below.

The lying Oz government just announced it has 8.7 million courses of vaccine in store; that was quick considering the virus hasn’t been properly identified/profiled yet! This entire event has a very familiar odour to it!

Desperate governments with no credibility wouldn’t hesitate resorting to extreme tactics; 9/11 and the anthrax (military lab) letters proved that! The virus may indeed be real and very dangerous but few believe it occurred spontaneously!

I hope everyone has noticed that demands to prosecute known TORTURERS are now OFF the front pages!

Scientists Say Swine Flu Vaccine Could Take Months to Produce
by Carolyn Presutti via quill - VOA Friday, May 1 2009, 10:41am

The World Health Organization says several laboratories around the world are developing a vaccination against swine influenza A-H1N1. The organization has raised its alert to level five, just below declaring the flu virus outbreak to be a pandemic. The process of vaccine development can take months.

Vaccine trials are being conducted

As the number of cases grows, so do efforts to develop a vaccine for swine influenza A-H1N1.

Dr. Wilbur Chen, who conducted vaccine trials for the avian flu at the University of Maryland, is among scientists who monitor animal flu viruses that move to humans. We found him at a vaccine research convention in Baltimore, Maryland.

"We, as vaccine researchers, in this field also would like to move the whole technology forward so we could create vaccines really, really quickly," Dr. Chen said.

Trials will take time to develop

But the process of developing a vaccine could take three months, maybe more. Scientists begin by injecting live virus into fertilized chicken eggs, and then they wait.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control has already isolated a sample of the virus and has grown what's called a seed stock. A seed stock is a strain of the virus that's the first step toward growing a vaccine.

"We have people who are very interested in the flu, as you can imagine," says Ed Mocarski, chief scientist with Medimmune, a company that produces vaccines.

"It has to be tested in animal models to make sure it's safe to go ahead into people," he explained. "And make sure it is live attenuated [disabled virus] and not have some capacity to cause disease."

Balancing benefits and risk of side-effects

It is a delicate balance between speed and the risk of side-effects from the vaccine. Scientists are still haunted by the U.S. massive vaccination program against a swine flu outbreak in 1976. Although a pandemic did not develop, about 30 people died of a neurological disorder thought to be linked to the vaccine.

"The risk of having some reactions that might just be transient, maybe just a couple days of pain or fever, I think would be outweighed by the potential lives saved -- if a virus were really moving through a population rapidly," Dr. Chen stated.

The dosage is determined at human clinical trials. Dr. Robert Belshe runs a vaccine development unit at St. Louis University's, School of Medicine. "It will take a number of months to produce the vaccine and do clinical trials with it," Dr. Belshe said. "Can we do it between now and the Fall? I'm sure vaccine manufacturers are busy now, figuring out what their timeline is and how much vaccine they can produce in the next few months."

Mocarski says they are. "All the companies who are prepared in flu manufacturing would be prepared to rise to that need," he said.

Vaccine research is global effort

The World Health Organization says several laboratories worldwide are working on a vaccine.

Experts say swine flu could slowly diminish now, only to re-emerge later this year. So scientists need to decide if that danger is great enough to include the new virus in the general flu vaccine this fall.

"We typically have our annual influenza vaccine that has three viral components in it," Dr. Chen explained. These are the viruses we think will circulate next year, and they've already been selected."

Scientists say any determination is not foolproof because the flu is fickle.

"Influenza is unpredictable and that's the only thing we can count on," Dr. Belshe said.

For now, the World Health Organization has advised all countries to activate their pandemic preparedness plan.
