"No binding agreements" -- Copenhagen ends in FAILURE
by hue Friday, Dec 18 2009, 8:20pm
international / environment / commentary

Predictably, the Copenhagen Climate 'Accord' ended in FAILURE; participants were more concerned with national rather than planetary issues.

Participating representatives avoided binding agreements favouring instead the SHORT TERM ECONOMIC INTERESTS of their respective nations -- and therein lies the problem!

The entire proposal/deal -- Carbon Trading -- rested on failed ECONOMIC principles (drafted by Bankers and Corporatists) rather than ENVIRONMENTAL NECESSITIES and REALISM. As a result agreement could never be reached as Bankers and Corporatists function on ONE SELFISH PRINCIPLE only, personal PROFIT! And it is PROFIT -- AT ALL COSTS -- that brought us to the current, rapidly deteriorating, environmental CATASTROPHE!

All reports to the contrary are merely attempts by politicians to feign success and save face.

The tragedy of course is OURS for failing to rein-in CORPORATISTS and the vile scum that served their own GREEDY interests to the point of destroying the GLOBAL ECONOMY AND the delicate balance of LIFE ON EARTH!

Little else needs to be said except perhaps, 'have a nice day' -- while you are able!

The CHANGE required is dependent on a new social paradigm, that of 'bottom up' ACTION rather than the failed and corrupt, 'top down' prevailing model! The people will eventually act but far too late to mitigate catastrophe; nevertheless, the political, executive, banker and corporatist class will bear the brunt of public anger, frustration and discontent -- it will not be pretty!

What price do capitalists place on a ruined planet and social/environmental HELL, I wonder? Perhaps they can turn a profit by somehow listing it on the 'futures' market!
