Slow Motion Diplomacy: Rice and Matza Balls
by peptide Friday, Jul 21 2006, 10:43am
international / peace/war / commentary

Condoleezza Rice (finally) announced that she would visit the war torn Middle East in the near future – let’s not rush to the assistance of innocent civilians and perhaps even prevent a humanitarian disaster! Rice also dismissed any hope of brokering an immediate cease-fire. She added that negotiating a cease-fire would be counter-productive at present! The international community has noted America’s lethargy and unwillingness to act in the present circumstances. The world is aware however that Israel would not have pursued its present hostile course without prior consent from Washington; Rice’s inaction and firm dismissal of any hope of a brokered cease-fire spells very clearly the relationship between Washington and Tel Aviv.

Secretary Rice

If anyone today continues to labour under the misapprehension that the present crisis is the result of two captured Israeli soldiers then think again; it may prove extremely revealing to focus on the antics of Rice and her fellow neo-cons.

Are we, indeed is the world, expected to believe that an immediate cease-fire would be ineffective? It is not rocket science to apprehend the fact that the cessation of violence results in the preservation of human life! Rice should refrain from her woeful attempts to beguile the world – her inaction and lethargy clearly indicates the existence of a pre-planned agenda; an agenda, I would add, that is doomed to failure. The PNAC strategy of total control of Middle Eastern and Central Asian resources is no longer a veiled or ‘secret’ strategy. The criminal Israeli invasion of Lebanon is evidence of the consent and complicity of the Washington regime. The disproportionate number of Zionists in Washington and the present inaction and unwillingness of the U.S. to effect an immediate cease-fire reveals the plain truth of the matter.

Fortunately the Europeans (Germany in particular) have decided to engage the warring parties and attempt to broker an end to hostilities. However, it is now plain that the U.S. would prevent any interference with their/Israel’s plans.

The question is what ‘price’ are criminal regimes willing to pay/forfeit to succeed in their objectives? Whether the U.S./Israel will succeed in their attempts to lower the standards of the civilised world remains to be seen, but from the sense of outrage evident today it is heartening to note that some regard for human life persists.

At least now the inept U.S. Secretary of State can stop pretending. Rice, is probably the most unsuitable and inept person who has ever held that position.

The reputation of the USA has taken a severe battering as result of its failure to act as traditional peacekeeper in the region. The world would hope that at least the failed government of America would not interfere when Europe and other nations are forced to intervene for peace in the region.

Israel will no doubt pay a very high price (in the future) for its disproportionate attacks and the high civilian death toll. Israel’s actions are inexcusable in today’s world. Perhaps the ‘independent’ court at the Hague would care to address the crimes against humanity – we do not expect prompt action form the Hague either!

One lost -- one too many!

No more hypocrisy

This article in the New York Times leaves no doubt as to the real intentions of the USA and Israel. We can only wonder where these people actually think they are going!?!?

Bush's choice for the UN
by John Bolthead Sunday, Jul 23 2006, 5:34am

John Bolton acknowledges the first principle of genocide and wanton murder by devaluing one human life against another, Zeig Heil!

"I think it would be a mistake to ascribe moral equivalence to civilians who die as the direct result of malicious terrorist acts. It’s simply not the same thing to say that it’s the same act to deliberately target innocent civilians, to desire their deaths, to fire rockets and use explosive devices or kidnapping versus the sad and highly unfortunate consequences of self-defense.”

The tragedy is not the existence of these people (Bolton, Rice, Bush etc) in positions of power, that is not uncommon. The real tragedy is the failure to remove them from those positions.

The people always pay a huge price for their inaction -- apathy, paralysis, fear, cowardice, inaction in the face of criminal leadership -- that is the real tragedy!
