It seems the only qualification required to become an Oz Parliamentarian these days is how well you can suck American dick, or expressed more tactfully, how well Aussie pollies can kowtow and 'kneewalk' in Washington!
Since Howard's disgusting, COWARDLY and shameless head-in-arse tactics with George W Bush, both Rudd and Gillard have upheld the Washington custard-face tradition. Yet we live in a Democracy, a political system not confined to two major parties or voting for shameless lackeys -- one wonders what took so long for some people to get the hang of it. ANYONE meeting the basic criteria is eligible to run for Parliament in Oz; even my toothless granny, who, I would add, could do a better job at running the country than CORPORATE lackeys, Howard, Rudd and Gillard put together!
It seems glamour boy Julian Assange, never one to be out of the media for too long, has woken to the idea and has announced plans to run for the Oz Senate. Well bully for you, old bean -- martinis all round, please; but if you wish to be successful, I'd make that beer!
People should not be unnecessarily alarmed as it is impossible to do worse than the current crop of Oz pollies in Canberra; what a bunch of spineless, traitorous, no-hopers. I am never ashamed of being an Aussie but I sure take to the gun cabinet every time I see treasonous Gillard and her bereft front bench, or Jesuit opposition leader, Abbot and his pathetic troop of servile, fascist, clowns.
Flesh it out with radical VISION and sensible patriotic policies, Julian, and you're in for a chance! You can't win on media notoriety alone, dude, so let's hear what you have to OFFER.
Be creative, quick and SUSTAIN your push, the media demands saturation coverage from gifted hacker narcissists and budding, patriotic, Oz politicians.
Report from Oz ABC follows:
Julian Assange to run for Senate
WikiLeaks has announced that its founder and leader Julian Assange is planning to run for a seat in the Australian Senate.
Assange is being detained in England ahead of a possible extradition to Sweden, where he is wanted for questioning over allegations that he sexually assaulted two women in 2010.
He is currently waiting for a British Supreme Court decision on his appeal against the extradition.
But WikiLeaks says despite his legal predicament, Assange is eligible to run for the Australian Upper House.
In its announcement on Twitter, WikiLeaks said it would also be running a candidate against Prime Minister Julia Gillard in her Lower House Victorian seat of Lalor.
"The name of the Laylor candidate and the state Julian will run for will be announced at the appropriate time," WikiLeaks said.
Assange has strongly denied the claims of sexual assault against him, saying they are politically motivated.
He says he fears being sent to Stockholm would open the way for his extradition to the US to face charges of spying linked to the leaking of classified military documents.
