Civil Disobedience
WASHINGTON Sept 15 -- Thousands of American citizens demonstrated in opposition to the criminal war in Iraq and to assaults on the Constitution and Bill of Rights by marching along Pennsylvania Avenue and staging a ‘die-in’ on the lawn of the Capitol. Approximately 200 protesters were arrested for various ‘offences;’ however, the 25,000 protesters made their point that the most heinous OFFENCE is the murder of one million innocent civilians in Iraq!
'Die-in' Washington protest
Demonstrators were arrested for lying on the lawn en-masse with the names of dead soldiers painted on their attire. It seems the tide is turning on the criminal neo-cons in Washington, most of whom have already abandoned ship leaving war whore Rice and the Texan clown President to take the fall. Protesters chanted impeach Bush and called for the immediate return of American troops as they marched.
After almost 10 years the people seem to have broken the Svengali spell of the conservatives and are now marching on the Capitol.
The SUCCESSFUL Washington protest is in stark contrast to the FAILED APEC protest in Sydney; perhaps the Australians may learn a trick or three and understand that thousands protesting without “permission” forces the police to engage in mass arrests for minor breaches of the summary offences act. That result/outcome would clearly demonstrate to the world that Australia has become a police state.
Protest successes rely on numbers, strategy and tactics – it is a simple matter to demonstrate to the world that Australia has become a police state by filling the jails and courts with thousands of people of conscience demonstrating against a war criminal Prime Minister and an illegal war. It really isn’t too difficult a task. APEC protest organisers take note and leave the details to the anal conservatives. Apply the KISS principle at ALL times and on ALL occasions, success is then ensured.
In solidarity to our American brothers and sisters -- we are ONE or we are nothing.
Peace.
