Latin American politics is not as dreary as the local timid variety. Hugo Chavez certainly knows what it means to lead. While some in the west may find his political methods a tad extreme, they certainly deliver results. Chavez recently threatened to nationalise the banks if they didn’t comply with the latest laws obliging them to make funds available for mortgages, small business and farming at accessible rates.
Hugo Chavez
In contrast Australian banks are free to ride the public into the ground with crippling rates, obscene fee structures and restrictive penalties. But what do you suppose the Oz public’s reaction to financial enslavement is; the public pays bank executives in the tens of millions -- only in Australia?
Australian banks enjoy the benefits all parasites enjoy from a helpless host. If there was ever a time to re-introduce some minor regulatory measures that time is NOW! Are you listening Kevin? You should all know the new Oz PM Kevin Rudd by now – he’s that little gutless twerp too afraid to face-down parasitic banks and rapacious mining companies.
Allowing the nation’s finite resources to be plundered by foreign corporations is reprehensible but no excuse exists for allowing banks to ride the public into the ground with escalating debt burdens, parasitic fees and penalties. Nationalisation is not unwarranted at present but parasitic fee structures and penalties require immediate government regulation.
Whatever your opinion of Hugo Chavez he does not shirk his duty to the people as their leader. Contrast the style and character of Rudd and Chavez – polar opposites! Do it with panache, Hugo -- and try and learn a trick or two Kevin, you thorough disgrace of a man.
People INSTINCTIVELY rally behind a REAL leader, Kevin, get your act together or risk ridicule.
