Tibet: tactical destabilisation

international / social/political / commentary

In 1999 the UN Security Council was ignored and America embarked, with its NATO allies, on an illegal bombing campaign of Yugoslavia. That illegal but supremely successful strategy was designed to fragment one nation into numerous powerless states, gain a foothold in the Balkans and establish a permanent presence with the view to securing energy supplies/infrastructure/corridors. The plan sought to override International law and convention, diminish the role of the UN in international affairs and directly challenge Russia and China, as both nations were firm allies of Yugoslavia and perceived to be enemies of the West.

It is now history that China and Russia backed down when challenged, notwithstanding extreme provocation by the West, which included targeting the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade and killing Chinese nationals. The Chinese and Russians are learning today that cowardice comes at a price, especially in the world of politics and war.

With the benefit of hindsight, a strong UNCOMPROMISING stand from the Sino-Russian military alliance -- including the threat of nuclear strikes -- would have saved the Balkans and the Legal system that has kept Europe (and the world) relatively stable since WWII.

However, the American ultra-right had a new agenda and viewed civilised laws as impediments and barriers to its ambitions – Richard Perle arrogantly proclaimed that it was not in America’s interests to observe existing laws and conventions; America’s many illegal actions since have confirmed the fact!

Had Russia, in concert with its ally China, supported Yugoslavia an entirely different outcome would have resulted in the Balkans; however, the historical reality is America bluffed and bullied all opposition and prevailed, notwithstanding its current status as criminal/rogue state.

The recent illegal secession of Kosovo was clearly designed to destabilise Russia and China as was cited in a previous post [http://cleaves.zapto.org/news/story-896.html]. Tibet is simply the next phase of the plan.

Previous violations of International Law and convention reaped no negative consequences for America so future actions have increased both in scope and intensity. America will obviously press ahead until it fulfils its plan for world domination or until other superpowers offer REAL RESISTANCE – that is a plain ‘law’ of international politics!

The precedent was set in 1999; since then we have witnessed the illegal invasion of Iraq and the illegal secession of Kosovo. The former Serbian province was ‘required’ to provide an energy corridor for Caspian oil and gas to the West and a strategic location for one of America’s largest military bases, Camp Bondsteel. Nevertheless, the fact remains, the territory has been illegally appropriated!

America and its allies can hardly believe their luck; no one expected the amputation of Kosovo from Serbia to occur with such ease. But it seems the threats from Russia, Serbia and some mild protestations from China all amounted to NOTHING!

TODAY we have the TIBETAN CRISIS – is anyone surprised? [I could end this short paper here but I will proceed for the benefit of the cringing leaderships of China and Russia.]

It’s all downhill from here ‘comrades!’ Your failure to act in support of your allies and in defence of your own borders is now haunting you in Tibet and in the form of American missile installations in Poland and the Czech Republic – and that is only the beginning!

Smaller nations waited before acknowledging Kosovo as an independent state. They waited to see if threats of retaliation would be realised; however, as the whole world now knows all threats were hot air and completely without substance. The only response the world witnessed from Russia and China was WEAKNESS and INACTION!

Yet the fact remains ‘comrades,’ your combined military capability is more than sufficient to overwhelm and obliterate the USA and Western Europe! Allow me to paraphrase Jack Kennedy when he was faced with a similar confrontation in Cuba, ‘get out of my face or we launch now!’ And he meant it!

Surely the most reticent political coward in your respective governments must know that force is only stopped with force! As your vacillation increases and as each day of inaction passes YOU grow weaker and America grows stronger.

It is clear America has no regard for the human suffering it creates in pursuit of its goals -- the Iraq holocaust is grim testimony of the fact. It will take more than talk and ‘discussions’ to halt the progress of a murdering rogue.

People are very reluctant to face the hard reality that a nuclear exchange is inevitable -- the current American ideology guarantees it! In view of the obvious is it preferable to fight when the opponent is weaker or stronger? Time, ‘comrades,’ is not on your side!

Defend your allies and defend your sovereign territories lest you lose everything. It is too late for compromise, only decisive action will halt the rogue.

Serbia PM Slams Kosovo Military Aid
by satff report via rialator - Balkan Insight Thursday, Mar 20 2008, 8:05am

20 March 2008 Belgrade -- Serbia’s caretaker prime minister described a decision by the United States' President to send military aid to Kosovo as 'utterly wrong' and aimed at creating a NATO puppet state in the region.

"This is the latest and 'utterly wrong' U.S. move that came after illegal recognition of Kosovo’s unilaterally declared independence,” Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said in an interview with the Vecernje Novosti daily.

In a presidential statement posted on the White House’s official Web site late Wednesday, Bush said Kosovo was eligible “to receive defence articles and defence services under the Foreign Assistance Act and the Arms Export Control Act.”

In his decree, Bush said military assistance to Kosovo "will strengthen the security of the United States and promote world peace."

Although its constitution envisions so, Kosovo does not yet have a standing army. The Kosovo Protection Corps, a civilian defence organization that emerged from the now-defunct Kosovo Liberation Army, should serve as an embryo for the future military, according to the blueprint for Kosovo's 'supervised independence' devised by UN Special envoy, Martti Ahtisaari. The territory maintains its police force which is under United Nations control.

In excerpts from the interview that will be published on Friday, Kostunica said that “there are too many weapons in Kosovo.”

Kostunica, a conservative politician is bitterly opposed to the U.S. policy of recognising and aiding Kosovo after it declared independence on February 17.

With the backing of key ally Russia, Serbia, which considers Kosovo as the heartland of its Orthodox Christian civilisation is trying to block territory’s access to the United Nations and other international organizations.

Ljubodrag Stojadinovic, a columnist with Belgrade's Politika daily and former military spokesman said "such a move indicates that Washington is ready to throw all of its weight" behind Kosovo.

"Americans are more concrete in backing their Kosovo Albanian allies than Russians who are supporting Serbia only verbally," he said.

A total of 33 countries, including leading Western powers have recognised Kosovo’s independence so far, prompting Serbia to protest and to pull out ambassadors from respective capitals for consultations.

The recognition of Kosovo by the U.S. and the West angered Serbs and many embassies were attacked in the February 21 riots in Belgrade.

“Instead of arming (Kosovo) Albanians, the U.S. should revert to adherence of the international law and the UN charter. Kosovo does not need new weapons but new negotiations” over its status, Kostunica said.

Serbia’s outgoing premier whose Cabinet collapsed on March 13 over disagreements about European integration with pro-Western coalition partners loyal to President Boris Tadic said “the American decision is only confirming implementation of a dangerous plan of creating a NATO puppet state in the world.”

"American authorities must know that the Serbian people are dismayed over the policy of force the U.S. is pursuing in its relations with Serbia. Our duty is to fight for the right and justice that belong to Serbia and to win either today or tomorrow,” Kostunica said.

In 1999 the U.S. administration under President Bill Clinton, led the NATO bombing of the now defunct two-republic Yugoslavia in an attempt to oust Serbian troops from Kosovo, then Serbia’s southern province and end their crackdown on ethnic Albanian rebels.

The U.S. currently maintains a 1456-strong military presence in Kosovo and the Bondsteel military base, as part of NATO’s KFOR peacekeeping contingent.
