A taste for the socially ‘aware’
by barra Sunday, Jul 13 2008, 12:24am
international / mass media / commentary

Today, July 13, my news aggregator revealed a world of INANITIES in the mainstream press! After glancing at the featured content, I realised we, the masses, are completely LOST. It hit home (hard) that ‘pigs, dogs’ and incompetent buffoons rule the world because they actually REPRESENT the mindless, moronic MAJORITY – therein lies the formula/seeds of our destruction! The grim fate beckoning vacuum-heads beckons us ALL – I began to wish it was all a bad dream but it was worse, it was on TV!

Rudd and Pope
Rudd and Pope

Information relating to critical issues was noticeably absent from the front pages, instead we were treated to ‘news’ of a mediocre Hollywood actress giving birth to twins – this birth contrasted with others around the world in that many babies born in disadvantaged nations are destined to die of disease and starvation only weeks after being born!

Our pathetic escapist sensibilities cannot face what we do to other HUMAN BEINGS so sharing the headlines was coverage of the Pope’s arrival in Sydney Australia; this man represents one of the most heinous criminal organisations the world has ever known YET he is HONOURED by millions of morons around the globe, who all seem unaware that the organisation he represents is DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for mass murder and cultural genocide. The blood of millions of indigenous people drips off every Catholic Cross in the world.

The Catholic Church perfected cultural genocide long before the communist Chinese. Entire civilisations in South America were eradicated by the Jesuits -- who functioned as the SAS for the money-grubbing, power-loving, Catholic Church. If you really wish to support Tibet then jail the Pope!

Previous Popes supported mass murdering fascist regimes and provided escape routes through Europe for Nazi and Ustashe war criminals. Criminal fascists were provided safe haven in Latin America until a few outraged Jews kidnapped some Nazis and placed them on trial, but the majority escaped without facing justice, thanks to the Catholic clergy.

As a result of allowing criminals to lead our social and government institutions genocide has become normalised today; confirmation is provided by George W Bush remaining president of the USA though his hands drip with the blood of innocents! The Pope’s earlier visit to America was all ‘God bless America’ but not a word for the hundreds of thousands of innocent civilian deaths attributed to the illegal American invasion of Iraq! The Roman Catholic Church is nothing if not historically consistent.

The mass media today urges us to pay homage to killers and perverts whenever the opportunity arises. Not long ago journalists were at the vanguard of the fight for social justice, today they are lackeys and expediters of formulated packages of information!

The secular news featured the Australian Prime Minister, Kevin ‘showpony’ Rudd, itching for a photo opportunity with the Pope. The 'Pontiff' has promised to apologise to Australians for the untold hurt, damage and suffering his paedophile priests have caused their Australian victims. However, that news seems to have been lost on Australia’s leading Catholic, Cardinal George Pell, who has been busy deflecting accusations of paedophilia and rape in the Church. Cardinal Pell has since been ‘caught out’ lying, nevertheless, conservative politicians were quick to jump to this vile hypocrite's defence, weren’t they, Mr Tony Abbott?

I look forward to the day when the world’s worst criminals are jailed not honoured, but my parakeet tells me that day may be a long time coming!

It would be pointless mentioning important issues; the entire planet (and life on earth) is facing one of the most critical periods in its history. Mass extinctions, including pollinating bees; climate CARNAGE, which promises famine and drought on a scale never before seen/imagined; social injustice/INEQUITY in the form of outrageous, obscene and UNJUSTIFIABLE concentrations of wealth in the fewest possible (incompetent) hands, etc.

Nah, we have better more important ‘news’ to report; did ya here? Paris Hilton flashed her twat again and Britney is making a comeback – now there’s something we can really use!

The following quotes are good examples of the mindless crap offered the public as news. Prior to reading this piece of journalistic swill we should remember that Australia presently faces its most critical crisis since Federation. The Murray-Darling river system -- the largest food producing irrigation system in the land – is facing total ruin and possible death. In view of this and other major crises no one gives a flying fuck whether or not the PM swears in private or not! However, what is painfully clear is that Rudd and his non-event, corporate subservient government are INCAPABLE of dealing with the CRISES that face the nation.

In an attempt to diminish the seriousness of the matter and deflect pressure from their hand-picked show pony Prime Minister, the propaganda arm (mass media) of the corporate machine that runs this country offers us this pathetic crap as news! I would hope this typically American ploy is seen for what it is. Australians are not yet as mindless and uninformed as yanks. Let the following report serve to inoculate those not already aware of the tricks of the mass media:

“A new book, co-authored by John Howard biographer and professor of politics Peter van Onselen, says Mr Rudd often swears at his staff behind closed doors and is known for his bad temper.”

The foreign minister, Stephen ‘floor-licker’ Smith, contributed with a typical comment, “I'm not going to say I've never heard Kevin swear, but in moments of frustration we all do exhibit those tendencies.”

Who in their right mind gives a fuck?

Nevertheless, perhaps we have all been educated. I have often wondered why gun crazed Americans and unhinged Aussies go on killing rampages and kill innocent civilians when they could do us all a great service and target the real enemies of the people -- politicians, senior public servants, police, religious leaders and corporate executives! Targeting the REAL criminals responsible for the worst crimes of the century would not be deemed a criminal action by the masses; in fact declaring open season on this vile scum may become the norm in the very near future. Time will tell!

One thing is certain; the critical nature of the issues confronting us all makes attempts to distract or camouflage them very difficult indeed. It appears the public may have finally become immune to spin.

The problems facing this nation are not minor, neither are they insurmountable. The first qualification for dealing with these problems is not to serve the forces that created them. No one who serves the corporate sector could adequately deal with the many issues facing the nation today. A REAL leader is required to heal this nation not a pathetic little show pony or a grovelling, floor-licking foreign minister. Surely it's about time the party REMOVED Rudd from office. It is not a matter of a hopeless political opposition, it’s a matter of SAVING THE NATION from the INCOMPETENTS, rogues, thieves and plunderers currently raping and destroying it!

Yo, G8 leaders, love your act
by Eric Margolis via rialator - Edmonton Sun Sunday, Jul 13 2008, 10:52am

This week's G8 summit in Japan was welcome comic relief after all the bombast and threats flying back and forth between the U.S., Israel and Iran.

The world leaders dined on caviar as they discussed hunger and the global food crisis. They agreed to do something about global warming by 2050. That's real courage and leadership.

"Yo, Harper," called out President George W. Bush, beckoning Canada's prime minister to come meet the president of Nigeria. Stephen Harper now joins Britain's late, unlamented former PM Tony Blair in being treated like a White House car jockey.

Bush and Harper, who had just come from a session blasting Zimbabwe's ruler, Robert Mugabe, as a wicked, corrupt tyrant, glad-handed with Nigeria's President Umaru Yar'Adua, who won office last year in one of Nigeria's most spectacularly rigged elections.

That's saying a lot, since Nigeria is without doubt the world's most corrupt nation.

But Nigeria has oil. Mugabe's Zimbabwe, which I fondly remember when it was prosperous, beautiful Rhodesia, is now dirt poor.

Obedient western-backed dictators who rig elections are hailed as "statesmen." Insubordinate rulers who don't co-operate are branded "dictators" or "tyrants."

Good for Mugabe for refusing to be pushed around by the hypocritical western powers screaming about his electoral fraud while blessing worse fraud and oppression in the Arab, Central Asian, and African dictatorships they support.

Somalia, Algeria guests

Invited guests at the summit included Ethiopia, which is inflicting wide scale atrocities in Somalia and facing famine, and Algeria, whose brutal military rulers proudly call themselves "the eradicators."

One of Bush's official briefing books fell into media hands. It described Italy as "known for governmental corruption and vice," and called Bush's "best pal" PM Silvio Berlusconi a "political dilettante" who holds power thanks to his ownership of the media.

"Are the courts still after you, Silvio?" tactfully called out buddy Bush.

Adding to the surreal aura and exposing the utter falsity of the faux "war on terror," the Bush administration announced it was taking Nelson Mandela off its terrorist list. Who is next? The late Mother Teresa? Bambi?

Meanwhile, Bush's girl Friday, Condoleezza Rice, flew to Prague to initial a truly daft plan to build a U.S. anti-missile system (ABM) in the Czech Republic and Poland.

Washington claims the system is designed to shoot down Iranian long-range missiles, which Iran does not have, carrying nuclear warheads, which Iran also does not have. "We are protecting Europe," chirped Rice. Of course, Condi. Those mad mullahs in Tehran are just itching to attack Belgium and Norway.

Predictably, Moscow went ballistic. The Kremlin actually threatened a "military-technical" response, whatever that means, if the U.S. installs an ABM system on its doorstep.

Nearly 70% of Czechs and Poles oppose this crazy plan. Poland is demanding a $3-billion air defence system from Washington as their price for basing the interceptor missiles. One wonders how much Czech politicians are getting paid to go along with Bush's little Central European Maginot Line?

Dacha dare

If the White House is so determined to provoke Russia, why doesn't it just go and bomb Putin's country dacha or Lenin's tomb?

Bush and Rasputin Dick Cheney have broken a 1991 pledge President Bush Senior made to Soviet chairman Mikhail Gorbachev. In exchange for Gorby's not crushing revolts across the dying Soviet Union, Washington agreed not to advance NATO eastward toward Russia or into the old U.S.S.R.

Gorbachev kept his side of the bargain, allowing the Soviet Union to implode.

The U.S. quickly reneged and began advancing NATO to Russia's borders. Washington currently is mucking around in Georgia and Ukraine, Russia's backyard.

Small wonder Bush's foolish ABM system so outrages the Ruskis. Bush's paranoia and obsession with Iran is causing him to risk provoking a military clash with Russia. He is fast pushing Russia's new President Dmitry Medvedev and PM Vlad Putin to the wall.

John McCain is cheering Bush on. At least old crocodile Mugabe isn't threatening to start a war or two.

Advisers 'collected $2.4b in superannuation commissions'
by Peter Ryan via fleet - ABC News Sunday, Jul 13 2008, 8:13pm

[Australian journalists may be re-discovering journalistic integrity and open reporting that serves the PUBLIC INTEREST -- we shall see! Ed.]

With superannuation losses expected to be the worst in 20 years, Australians are being urged to take a close look at the hefty commissions paid to financial advisers.

A new report out today shows retail superannuation funds paid advisers a staggering $2.4 billion during 2007 as retirement investments peaked and then sank as the share market correction hit.

The market volatility will deliver negative returns for many super funds, with most down by an average 5 per cent.

The Industry Super Network, which represents industry super funds, says the fees and commissions are "indefensible" given the negative returns most Australians are about to receive.

The network's executive director David Whiteley - who commissioned the research house Rainmaker Information to scrutinise fees - has told ABC Radio's AM an estimated $862 million in sales commissions was paid on compulsory super contributions alone.

"Sales commissions erode individual and national savings. Each year hundreds of millions of dollars are paid from compulsory super contributions alone," Mr Whiteley said.

"Given current market volatility there will inevitably be greater scrutiny of fees and commissions by super fund members, and growing community disquiet about sales commissions being paid by retail super funds to financial advisers.

"Sales commissions have a two-fold effect; they create a conflict of interest for the financial adviser and erode retirement savings."

Mr Whiteley said the Rainmaker data showed that over a 40-year working life, fees and commissions could have a considerable impact on the retirement savings of members.

The Rainmaker report also shows that financial advisers received almost $6 billion in fees and commissions over the past three years.

"Any debate about national savings and the adequacy of retirement savings must take into account the effect of sales commissions. Banning sales commissions would evidently lift national savings," Mr Whiteley said.

The renewed concerns about fees and commissions comes as Superannuation Minister Senator Nick Sherry scrutinises fees and commissions paid to financial advisers.

Pope's temporary Oz home
by martin Sunday, Jul 13 2008, 10:29pm

For the information of international readers:

The Pope has chosen to stay at the Opus Dei centre in Kenthurst Sydney during his visit to Australia.

The mass media is aware of this but has decided to call it the "Kenthurst Study Centre" -- it seems that hack novelist, Dan Brown, had more of an impact than many would give him credit for.

We can only wonder whether the Pope will participate in group flagellation during his stay at the Nazi headquarters of Catholicism in Sydney.

Criminals should be jailed not honoured. As undisputed head of his Church the Pope must accept responsibility for the actions of his representatives; and yes, George, we know that victim is over 30 but many are under 13.

Try another distraction, Cardinal Pell, climate change skepticism is not strong enough to deflect the focus of the world away from the perverted practices of your clergy.

Shame on you brazen, criminal, HYPOCRITES! Whoever or whatever you imagine you represent it certainly is NOT Jesus Christ!
