McCarthyism and the John Howard election campaign

Just a short note for Geoffrey Cousins, after all we all know that Howard just takes orders from big business. What better lackey to have as a Prime Minister, ay Geoff? But it seems you’ve forgotten Joe McCarthy and his ignominious end. In two words Geoff, NEGATIVE OVERKILL! Negative advertising and persistent scare campaigns eventually wear thin with the population, you dumb fuck! Are we getting old and perhaps losing it, Geoff? A little over the hill like Howard!

You should have known, shouldn’t you? But like Howard you lack vision and versatility – just keep harping your negative poison and the people will tear you to shreds, you fuckwit! It’s already occurring; noticed the language and passion in the mass media lately? Infectious isn’t it, maate?

You have no idea how much we’re enjoying this, Geoff. You, Howard and the little cabal of dead, conservative heads have done such a good job on yourselves we need not have made the effort. But we did, reading a luck-lustre bunch like you was piss-easy, Geoff, and WE DID IT ALL FOR FREE -- how does it feel? It was never about the money, Geoff.

Keep up the ‘good’ NEGATIVE CAMPAIGN, mate, then realise you have been thoroughly but subtly screwed. Classic documentary footage of Joe McCarthy’s demise and all the circumstances that led to the rejection of stultifying, conservative, contractionism is freely available Geoff, give it a ‘butcher’s hook,’ -- makes great viewing, dumbarse!

What to do, Geoff? Damned if you go positive and damned if you stay negative; you should have seen it coming but arrogance is its own ‘reward,’ isn’t it, mate? Shout‘s on me at the ‘has been’ club, Geoff.

Go on mate, do your best, you have a few weeks left; we just decided it was time for a taunt.

Too good!

“Hope you guessed my name, but what’s puzzling you is the nature of my game!” [Puzzles the fuck out of me too, Geoff!]

Sorry mate, just couldn’t think of an appropriate jingle to end this little piece with, but I’m sure YOU understand!

Woo hoo!
