Greeks hold peaceful protest in Athens image The Sons of Cain finn, Wednesday, Dec 10 2008, 3:36am
It is appropriate that the home of democracy reminds us never to tolerate oppression, violence and corruption from non-representative minority governments that have subverted the democratic process and stolen power. We are all reminded of the price extracted when we fail to be vigilant; the murder of a 15 year-old boy in Greece by the reviled authorities and the one million innocent civilian dead in Iraq are consequences of allowing criminals to seize power and failing to act swiftly to remove them. The horrendous death toll inflicted by America in Iraq is the result of OUR INACTION in the face of FLAGRANT CRIMINAL ACTIVITY. (story and 3 comments and 2 images)

text More from the Front Lines of the Financial Crisis Stephen Lendman via reed, Monday, Nov 3 2008, 8:52am
In its latest economic outlook, Merrill Lynch economists "worry about inflation, or more precisely," a lack of it. From crashing global equity markets, falling commodity prices, rising unemployment, stagnant wages, over-indebted households, declining production, the continuing housing crisis, and more. All pointing to several future quarters of negative growth. Showing that Fed chairman Bernanke will face "his greatest fear: deflation." An analysis of the coincident to lagging indicators signals "deep recession." (story and 1 comment)

John F Kennedy image John F Kennedy speech April 27, 1961 fleet, Thursday, Jul 31 2008, 1:10am
A President with integrity invokes the same sentiments as his predecessor Abe Lincoln, who stated, “I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crises. The great point is to bring them the real facts."

Kennedy refers to the same sentiment in his speech to the Newspaper Publishers Association: “No President should fear public scrutiny of his program. From that scrutiny comes understanding; and from that understanding comes support or opposition. And both are necessary... I have complete confidence in the response and dedication of our citizens whenever they are fully informed.” (story and 1 comment and 1 image)

text Real Australian spirit required to remedy national crises major mitchell, Tuesday, Jun 24 2008, 10:59pm
Enough time has passed for every Aussie to conclude that the Rudd government, faced with critical issues, is GUTLESS and USELESS! Rudd and his mob of no-hopers appear even more servile and slavish to U.S. dictates and corporate interests than the previous Howard government -- as inconceivable as that REALITY may be for most Aussies. However, after seven months of Rudd’s vacuous parading and poncing around, blind Freddy sees!

text In these times: a prelude person, Wednesday, Jan 30 2008, 7:18am
Today’s governments are noted for the contempt they display toward the people. Nations that once held democratic values in the highest regard have succumbed to nasty totalitarian expediencies. Totalitarian nations continue to treat their people harshly and with little tolerance for personal freedoms. Former democratic nations and successful totalitarian nations are undergoing an ideological convergence. Regardless of ideology, however, it is always THE PEOPLE THAT PAY THE PRICE FOR THE INEPTITUDES AND FAILINGS OF THEIR LEADERS. Well, we have had enough, its time for EVERYONE to accept responsibility for their own actions -- that includes Bank Executives, Company CEOs, Financiers, and our politicians.

We are the people OF THE WORLD and we have had enough! Learn this slogan well,
WE ARE ONE!
It will either save you or it will be your nemesis.

Jack Johnson image The Line barra, Wednesday, Jan 16 2008, 9:41pm
There is a line drawn invisibly in all societies, a line that prudent rulers dare not cross.

When the sheeple, the common herd, the moronic masses wake up to the ‘facts‘ and become aware of the machinations, incompetence and failings of their rulers, the State of play changes dramatically; one can almost taste change in the air. Forget the clichéd slogans, I’m talking about a set of social circumstances that propel certain people into places and into roles they could never have envisioned. (story and 1 image)

Bernie Banton image Goodbye Bernie, goodbye ol’ mate! barra, Monday, Nov 26 2007, 10:59am
The Imperial British say, “the King is dead, long live the King;” in Australia we say, “Bernie Banton is dead long live Bernie,” AND the Oz tradition of fair play and the fair go. Commiserations to the family and a heroic tribute to a REAL Aussie fighter – hang your heads you scumbag, murdering, corporate-loving, conservatives! Everyone involved in the disgraceful attempt to shirk responsibility in Bernie’s case should be tried for manslaughter! (story and 2 images)

RioTinto's copper mine in NSW image Whose Nation? yarra, Tuesday, Nov 13 2007, 10:57am
Due to the failure of successive Australian conservative and Labor governments to pursue viable technological and scientific options in the past our economy today almost exclusively relies on resource extraction. The plainest description would be a hole-in-the-ground economy – the picture says it all. There is no such thing as eco-mining; the ugly, rapacious, scaring of our land is relentless and proceeds at speed with minimal regulatory intervention. Absolutely no provision exists that encourages mining companies to return some benefits/profit to the nation and its people! The reason is simple, Transnationals and Corporations dictate policy to incumbent governments and aspiring opposition parties! Representative government no longer exists; ‘our’ major political parties clearly serve the interests of Mega-corporations and Transnationals. (story and 1 comment and 1 image)

text Exceeding Worth Kingfisher, Friday, Nov 2 2007, 12:17am
Alienation, vacuity of purpose or simply 'the lost lives of the people!' Are YOU working more and enjoying it less? What does it matter if you wallpaper your house with money if you have lost your family, friends and community in the process. In a world where we are constantly fed lies relating to our ‘envious’ standard of living and the wonderful advances we’ve made, I notice entire developed nations now suffering from what I call, ‘native envy.’ The Aboriginal standing on a rocky outcrop overlooking a limitless landscape. A land that provides all his needs with minimal work -- a few hours per day. The other twenty hours are dedicated to ritual ‘dreaming’ art and dance. But we are better off aren’t we? We have Nintendo and Plasma TV! (story and 1 comment)

A mendicant’s first responsibility is to achieve quiescence his second is to alleviate the suffering of his fellow human beings. In every sense a Buddhist engages life and human society. Quiescence delivers Peace and from that great storehouse a mendicant is able to assist humanity – contrast the Buddhist approach with the violent Jews, Christians and Muslims. It is clear the Abrahamic religions have degenerated into murdering political organisations – put simply, Christians, Jews and Muslims have lost their religion. It is hoped the shining example of Peaceful mendicants effecting social change in Burma, serves to inspire those who falsely imagine that supporting violent solutions is somehow religion. Cronulla: Howard's racists in action! image Disguised racism: test for Oz citizenship dingo, Saturday, Aug 25 2007, 10:11pm
Fresh from scapegoating a dark skinned Indian doctor (Haneef) the Australian Immigration Minister, Kevin Andrews, today released a booklet outlining test questions designed for would-be residents. Questions relate to whether or not the Australian Prime Minister, John Howard lied to the population in order to support the criminal invasion of Iraq, which resulted in the first holocaust and humanitarian disaster of the 21st century. Other questions relate to Australian conservatives fellating American Presidents and abandoning traditional Australian values. (story and 2 images)

text The democratic prerogative: whose world? fish, Sunday, Aug 5 2007, 1:11pm
What did you expect?

If you place liars and criminals in government do you expect justice and peace, or war, plunder and destruction? There is NOT one honest person today that leads a nation – all are corrupt, do you expect honesty and integrity from sewer rats? Liars and jackals reign supreme and occupy all the seats of power; do you expect consideration, fair treatment or cynicism and deception?

From China through Indonesia to Japan, the racist Howard government has become the laughing stock of all Asia. The Indians may have taken the victimisation of one of their citizens to heart. Employing a variation of Scotland Yard misinformation, a bogus ‘dossier’ was produced to great effect. The ‘white’ pointer bit with a vengeance only to have the Indian authorities denounce the ‘dossier’ as fake – all at Howard’s and Keelty’s expense.

text Racist Prime Minister, John Howard, refuses to Apologise budgie, Sunday, Jul 29 2007, 12:35pm
Internationally known coward and racist, John Howard, today declared he would not apologise for the trauma, injustices and abuse Dr Haneef suffered at the hands of the executive government, state regulatory authorities, legal system and the media -- for assisting in his [Haneef’s] character assassination. Note Howard’s exact phrasing, "Australia will not be apologising to Dr Haneef,” [my emphasis.] Howard hides behind his office to imply the Australian nation refuses to apologise when it is clear that Howard only represents a backward-looking retrogressive conservative/racist element of Australian society.

‘Whatever goes around comes around’ or the Pauline, ‘God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that will he reap’. The one positive aspect of long term Presidents and Prime Ministers is they usually catch what they have thrown and in that sense Bush is catching a huge amount of shit mixed with blood. Even a cretin like Bush is able to understand where the neo-cons have taken him, to the halls of the world’s most infamous and inept political leaders. A self-respecting Japanese leader would have committed suicide by now but the world knows an American coward and moron when it sees one, and what a tragic and pathetic sight it makes! Muslim ideology at Maroubra beach image Oz Federal Cop targets Academic Inaccuracies budgie, Sunday, Jul 1 2007, 4:03pm
A study which cost Australian taxpayers $200,000 by way of an academic grant, was duly trounced as hysterical and misleading (inferred) by the good ‘horse sense’ of Federal Police Chief Mick Keelty. The study makes imaginative claims of local 'terrorist activity' and utilises abstract and ambiguous terminology such as, "ideological sleeper cells" – by definition everyone is an 'ideological sleeper' as we are all prone to change our minds at any given time. text Loan defaults escalating: Big Finance and governments Responsible finch, Thursday, Jun 28 2007, 2:24pm
Many articles have been written on the tactic of pervasive and continuous debt as a form of economic social management. However, few financial ‘wizards’ and politicians understood the ramifications of such a tactic. To meet regular needs average people have been forced to borrow at rates never before seen. As a result of the created necessity to borrow large amounts and the ease of obtaining large loans, a rapid increase in loan defaults is occurring. Perhaps statistical information on the ‘spike’ in long term debt servicing and mortgagee defaults highlights the failure of the debt strategy. Hailed at the time as the optimum method of economic and social management, today it is proving to be just another strategy of big business appropriating more at the expense of EVERYTHING and everyone else.

Bird of Paradise image Mind Slaves of Our Time fish, Saturday, Jun 23 2007, 1:08pm
The title suggests the sci-fi genre or the paranoid delusions of conspiracy theorists; surely it couldn’t be possible that millions of people today are slaves to particular worldviews formulated by men in the distant past. Views that enslave, terrorise and create a subservient population. Intolerant views that challenge refutation with physical and psychological violence. Preposterous views that cripple the reasoning faculties and the intellect -- men flying and living inside whales, materialisations, stories relating to sociopathic, blood lusting, faecal-eating Gods.

Prior to the last reference most would have already guessed religion as the most likely pathogen responsible for most of today’s social ills. (story and 1 comment and 2 images)

text Social Mystery harely quin, Friday, Jun 8 2007, 11:48am
The masses are considered to be moronic by political strategists and analysts of almost every persuasion and it’s easy to understand why. In full view of EXPOSED criminal governments, wholesale plunder, global exploitation, outrageous ‘salary’ contracts (hundreds of millions for corporate directors) the people, the herd, the sheep, the slaves, the ‘work force’ -- or whatever other fitting derogatory description you care to make -- sit in their socially underprivileged spaces eating ‘shit’, relatively speaking! In no way or by any stretch of the human imagination is a person who earns 100K/annum hundreds of thousands of times the inferior of a person who earns tens or hundreds of millions per year – that is patently obvious YET the sheeple tolerate that inequity and much more. text Holocaust Iraq: An inconvenient Truth fish, Monday, May 21 2007, 10:55pm
Today, the American public is no longer able to claim ignorance over the real cost of filling their SUVs with gas nor are they able to deny their status as a hypocritical, ungodly, pariah nation. Few people anywhere are unaware of America’s dirty little grab for the resources of weaker nations. For every full tank of gas INNOCENT human blood has been spilt, particularly the blood of those least able to defend themselves, CHILDREN. When faced with undeniable and unpleasant realities Americans seek refuge in the unreality of their televisions or other distracting entertainments. The cost of the American lifestyle today is served to local populations for breakfast, however, the media is careful to neatly package all distasteful material in justifications, propaganda and flagrant lies (that have no currency anywhere but America).
