Carmel Travers image Seeking Carmel Travers barra, Sunday, Nov 4 2007, 11:09am
The title indirectly hints at the fact that this intro is an indictment of the current crop of Oz journalists and a tribute to Carmel Travers – who it seems was the last real Australian journalist willing to pursue the Truth at any cost.

In the wake of a damning report assessing declining press freedoms and disappearing government transparency, Travers’ outstanding professionalism and character shines like a beacon in the dark mire of selective, biased and servile reporting. Travers clearly refused to accommodate the new neatly ‘tailored’ form of journalism, which has more in common with propaganda and entertainment than investigative reporting. (story and 2 images)

Howard and Bush, share crimes and values image Collusion and Interference in State Institutions nano, Thursday, Nov 1 2007, 11:58am
It is absolutely imperative in any democracy that legal, regulatory and other important State Institutions REMAIN INDEPENDENT and free of GOVERNMENT INTERFERENCE. However, in America today we witness flagrant attempts by the Bush regime to commandeer legal and regulatory organisations to the neo-conservative ideology and cause -- the result of these outrageous interventions has been the wholesale subversion of the founding democratic principles of the nation. scaremonger McCarthy image McCarthyism and the John Howard election campaign budgie, Saturday, Oct 27 2007, 12:10pm
Just a short note for Geoffrey Cousins, after all we all know that Howard just takes orders from big business. What better lackey to have as a Prime Minister, ay Geoff? But it seems you’ve forgotten Joe McCarthy and his ignominious end. In two words Geoff, NEGATIVE OVERKILL! Negative advertising and persistent scare campaigns eventually wear thin with the population, you dumb fuck! Are we getting old and perhaps losing it, Geoff? A little over the hill like Howard! Australian 'Galah' image “A change of rulers is the joy of fools” nano, Saturday, Oct 20 2007, 4:29pm
The above Romanian proverb seems written for the current Oz elections. Both contenders have already pledged their undying servility to the USA – sovereignty anyone? Both prospective leaders share more in common with each other than with some members of their own party. Both contenders kow-tow to the corporate sector and offer no alternative to our garage sale economy. The pillage of our precious resources at bargain basement prices will continue uninterrupted regardless of who ‘leads’ the nation. Howard has surrendered the nation to the yanks and our wealth to the Transnationals and Rudd is happy with the arrangement. A gnat has more vision than either ‘man!’ (story and 1 image)

While the ‘bewildered herds’ of the West bray and bleat, the aware fight on – life scintillates for those who choose to live it and is Bliss for those who choose to FIGHT, moooo!

This week has seen some remarkable events; a meat-eating Buddhist monk received an award from a nation that is responsible for the worst holocaust of the 21st century; it may be time to review the basic tenets of Buddhism, Tenzin, you reprehensible HYPOCRITE and bald-faced FRAUD! Your actions may arouse the la la’s and space cadets from their somnambulistic trance but I doubt it! You have just farted in a very crowded lift, Tenzin, and all eyes are on YOU! How does it feel to zero your credibility by supporting a criminal nation and its actions against your fellow human beings, Mr Gyatso-Dalai Lama – what a laugh? (story and 1 image)

text Oz elections: a dead loss for the people barra, Friday, Oct 12 2007, 12:45am
The incumbent, John Howard, has a new nickname, ‘dead man walking,’ while his opponent remains an insipid non-entity. It’s all but over for the lying rodent and war criminal, nevertheless, the ‘aluminium tubing’ Prime Minister is making one last-ditch effort for an impossible outcome. In a speech delivered at the Sydney Institute Howard made apologetic noises designed to tug at public sympathy – tell it to the stolen generation and the one million civilian dead of Iraq, Mr Howard! Consider yourself lucky not to have been arrested -- many Australians would prefer to see you in the dock of a war crimes tribunal answering for your crimes against humanity.

Oz handiwork image Bringing it home: Oz cowboys murder Iraqi Christian women finn, Tuesday, Oct 9 2007, 10:34am
Statistics and figures are sterile indicators; it is blood that most effectively conveys reality for human beings. Who gives a shit if over one million innocent civilians have lost their lives in Iraq if we can’t see it or feel it? Stats and figures are emotively denuded and Iraq is a very distant land? Well, today the slaughter of innocents in Iraq has been served up on Oz breakfast tables. An Australian owned security firm has murdered two Iraqi Christian women for failing to heed warnings to stop their vehicle. It should be noted the IRAQI women frequently utilised this IRAQI road and complied with IRAQI law. Do foreigners have a right to roam wherever they please and determine who should live or die? Is this the ‘liberation’ of Iraq that John Howard sells to the Oz public or is this the stark reality of a nation reduced by coalition forces to a state wherein mercenaries, cowboys, thieves and murderers determine who should live or die? Pursed face of a hypocrite image By their actions are they known peptide, Monday, Oct 8 2007, 11:56am
Wonderful country Oz, isn’t it? Regardless of the best efforts of the most incompetent, cowardly and now hypocritical leaders, the nation continues to endure! WE survive in the true Aussie SECULAR tradition. A tradition that easily exposes religious hypocrites and other lying rodents, need we name the two characters alluded to? (story and 2 images)

“In any social context a clear view can only be afforded from a position of detached objectivity,” my trainer in analysis once taught me. The perspective to which I refer in relation to the title is of course the brave monks of Burma who in STARK CONTRAST to their Aussie, cringing, EXTREMELY OBEDIENT protesting cousins, conduct THEIR protests in the tradition of civil disobedience -- a proven method tried and tested over the millennia! Lemmings image The Politics of Paralysis yarra, Friday, Oct 5 2007, 12:15pm
The outstanding feature of economic rationalism and laissez-faire capitalism is the LACK of an IDEAL, in other words to what end do WE SUPPORT these rapacious, voracious and highly polluting economic ideologies? What is the ideal of economically based systems and what is the cost? The answer to the first question is a negative – no ideal exists – the process itself substitutes for the ideal and that is a very dangerous situation. The ‘God’ of laissez-faire capitalists and economic rationalists is the rampant process of consumption itself! We are all aware that the principal causative factor for global warming, climate chaos, ecological destruction and the mass extinctions of plant and animal life is POLLUTION! (story and 1 image)

Dedicated to a treeless Australia -- eat pulp not seafood! image Dying embers Kingfisher, Thursday, Oct 4 2007, 12:03pm
The Howard racist government has plainly lost the plot as is clearly evident in the announcements and statements of Immigration Minister, Kevin ‘no Africans here’ Andrews and Howard enforcer, Bill ‘yellow peril’ Heffernan. But the overt racism of these two ideological dinosaurs has not delivered the final deathblow to the Howard antiquated government. That dubious honour goes to Malcolm ‘rice balls’ Turnbull, who has so ‘expertly’ committed personal political suicide (over his handling of the red-hot Gunns, pulp mill issue) the flow-over effect threatens to drag his party under with him! For the want of a Tasmanian marginal seat the whole party was lost -- and it couldn’t have happened to a more deserving bunch of incompetent cowards. (story and 2 images)

Is colour required? image The Confetti Elections of Modern Democracies barra, Tuesday, Oct 2 2007, 1:32pm
Crucial issues affecting national viability/welfare are always sacrificed in favour of spin, propaganda and beat-ups during the ‘free and fair’ elections of Western democracies. The idiotic attempts of highly paid consultants/propagandists to snatch victory with tinsel tricks have not only become counter-productive but are now threatening national viability/security. TODAY, THE FUTURE VIABILITY OF NATIONS IS AT STAKE! Allow that FACT/REALITY to sink into the waffle of the spin-soaked minds of the public! (story and 1 image)

BHP plundering our water resources image Oz Leadership Disgrace finch, Sunday, Sep 30 2007, 1:37pm
The constantly deceived, insular, myopic, parochial Australian population cannot be held entirely responsible for living in a dream world regarding their reputation in the world today. Colonialist, racist, pea-hearted, scurrying little rodent coward leaders earn reputations for us all whether we like it or not! These reputations are difficult to overcome, it took John Howard and the CONSERVATIVES who support him, 11 years to drag our good name into the racist, cowardly, cringing, dependent gutter, and it will take some time to regain our former status in the world. BHPBilliton plundering (and polluting) Oz image Democracy, my arse! Kit, Friday, Sep 28 2007, 2:26pm
Consider this, you duped, deluded, dunces! Oz has a population of 20 million yet the government has spent (since ’96) 1.5 BILLION of OUR taxpayers dollars on ADVERTISING alone – specifically for purposes of maintaining their hold on POWER! This situation raises many questions regarding the ‘free and fair’ society in which we live, not least the FARCE that democracy has become in Australia. How is it fair if the costs of informing/reaching the people amount to the above obscene figure – who is able to afford these sums? Of course the incumbent government by taxing us into oblivion; however, outside interests (that control our ‘democracy’) are easily able to afford these sums. The interests to which I refer are known to us all, the TAX MINIMISING Super Corporations plundering our resources and boasting profits of tens of billions per year, while returning virtually nothing to our society. text Elections Oz: a convenient dirt campaign yarra, Saturday, Sep 22 2007, 3:37pm
Gutter politics, smear, slur and ‘dirt’ are the order of the day in Oz politics. Accusations and counter accusations from both major parties have captured the attention of the local mass media – as was expected. But to paraphrase William, 'things are not what they seem;’ the incumbent and the contender have both breathed a sigh of relief, the dirt campaign has taken the pressure of our leaders who were faced with the prospect of spelling out their vacuous policies and future ‘plans’ for the nation.

Cowardly disgrace image Police: the APEC disgrace finch, Monday, Sep 17 2007, 1:27pm
The ONE OUTSTANDING FEATURE of APEC was without doubt the massive and unprecedented police presence. Authorities attempted to compensate for their demonstrable LACK of policing skills by a massive (historically unwarranted) deployment of police numbers. It was hoped the sheer weight of numbers (visual presence/scarecrow principle) would carry the day! However, as was clearly demonstrated by the Chasers, SECURITY was left WANTING! Five thousand (incompetent) police do not constitute a secure environment in Australia! [Take note useless bureaucrats!] (story and 2 images)

Alex, problem solving image Oz wakes up to John Howard peptide, Wednesday, Sep 12 2007, 4:06pm
The Oz conservative leader emerged from a challenge to his leadership today with a ‘brilliantly’ thought out plan – someone obviously doesn't have his best interests at heart! It reduces to something like this; vote for me and you also vote for the usurper Treasurer Costello, but if you don’t like him then you’re really voting for a team led by two leaders who hate each others guts. It concludes with another juicy illogic; vote for me and you vote for uncertainty, as my party will force me to retire immediately after the election – BLOODY BRILLIANT! A story by ninemsn staff reporters of a visit to Oz of fading porn ‘star,’ Jenna Jameson -- no she’s not here to cop a battering from every stray 'sav' in town; she’s buying a bloody dress in Perth. Jameson, a bovine-breasted ‘blonde’ fuck-bucket, has probably seen more dicks than most women dream of in their wildest fantasies. But bovine blondes do nothing for me – my preferences lean more toward exotic Asian dolls – which allows me ample distance for a hopefully unbiased treatment of this odd ‘news piece!’

Leigh Sales, a convenient face! image When is a journalist a joke? dingo, Friday, Sep 7 2007, 12:56am
An exclusive interview conducted by national security correspondent to the (Oz) ABC, Ms Leigh Sales with US Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice was without doubt the most wasted journalistic opportunity I have ever witnessed. Rice was allowed to literally get away with MURDER! Sales seems to have forgotten it is a journalist’s job to DIG for the TRUTH, not allow an opportunity to slip through her very wet fingers.
