It is becoming abundantly clear to every Australian that the Rudd Labor Government hasn’t a clue. After one year in office the PM, Kevin ‘07’ (Dud) and his pack of no-hoper ministers have demonstrated their collective inability to deal with the major issues confronting the nation; not least of which is upgrading the archaic broadband network -- known to be a liability on all users, especially the business, medical, scientific and agricultural/rural communities. After his revealing address to an almost empty chamber at the UN, Kevin ‘non-event’ Rudd has taken Australian recognition to an all-time low in the international arena.
His predecessor, John ‘aluminium tubing’ Howard could never be accused of insignificance, his rabid right wing, racist, contractive, slavish (to America) and cynical policies ensured that he would be noticed by the world, but for all the wrong reasons! The Tampa crisis, deportation of citizens, illegal invasive warfare, rabid racism, which culminated in the victimisation of dark skinned Indian Doctor Haneef, surrendering Australian nationals to Indonesian authorities to face execution and allowing Transnationals and Corporate CEOs to dictate policy in the running of the nation, especially Allan Moss and his Macquarie Group! There were 300 Spartans bathed in myth and then there were 160 real Aussie fighting men of extraordinary valour and bravery. A swing of 7% against the government in the Gippsland by-election sends a clear and strong message to non-event PM, Kevin ‘bereft’ Rudd. The average swing against an incumbent government is around 4%; not only have the people kicked Rudd where it hurts but it is looks like Rudd will be kicked right out of the Lodge before or after his first term -- a very dubious distinction for a Labor leader. Everyone except Rudd and his imbecile media advisers see the writing on the lavatory wall. Australian government since former PM John Howard surrendered the nation to the Corporations is only a meaningless body going through motions and parading as though government actually mattered. The current Murdoch approved Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, constrained by the Corporations, is too frightened to force them to return a fair percentage of their obscene profits to the nation for essential infrastructure and other essential services. Howard implemented policies that have created the widest disparities in wealth distribution in the nation’s history. ABC news radio today reported that a group of Australian citizens, inclusive of academics, lawyers and other professionals, lodged a submission to the ICC to have former PM, John Howard, charged with war crimes for his participation in the illegal invasion of Iraq. Howard with cohorts Bush and Blair, formed the so-called ‘coalition of the willing;’ a rogue alliance that acted against the correct advice of the UN and in violation of numerous international conventions relating to pre-emptive warfare.

Remember the ‘new sweeping terrorist laws’ the previous conservative Howard government instituted? New draconian laws the current (useless) Rudd government is happy to leave in place. The conservatives felt obliged to emulate America and introduce police state laws though the nation had not suffered any direct terrorist attacks. Civil liberties groups and other concerned citizens protested vehemently regarding intrusions on personal liberties, privacy, and the new draconian/intrusive powers accorded law enforcement agencies, which could easily be abused!

Australia is making a weak gesture to remember its once proud rebel fighting past. Furnished with a cringing government grant of $120,000, archaeologists are undertaking a dig at Glenrowan, the site of Ned Kelly’s last stand against colonial oppressors and the corrupt authorities of the time. They hope to unearth new artefacts and solve some popular folk legends that Kelly's brother escaped the siege.
