Police: the APEC disgrace

The ONE OUTSTANDING FEATURE of APEC was without doubt the massive and unprecedented police presence. Authorities attempted to compensate for their demonstrable LACK of policing skills by a massive (historically unwarranted) deployment of police numbers. It was hoped the sheer weight of numbers (visual presence/scarecrow principle) would carry the day! However, as was clearly demonstrated by the Chasers, SECURITY was left WANTING! Five thousand (incompetent) police do not constitute a secure environment in Australia! [Take note useless bureaucrats!]

Cowardly disgrace

How I would love to face you ALL in court, but unfortunately my position prevents it. A small team of five military trained specialists could have done what they wished during the APEC summit. THE POLICE HAVE FORGOTTEN that security is primarily of a psychological nature.

Two hundred million taxpayer’s dollars would have been better-spent on essential infrastructure upgrades and massive stand-downs in government ‘security’ organisations. But what has occurred in lieu of sound judgement and re-structuring, the exoneration of police for openly flouting the Law and their responsibly to Australian society. Today, the courts ruled n favour of police regarding the removal of identification material during APEC demonstrations – the State and the people ARE NOT WELL SERVED!

The decision to concentrate on numbers rather than SECURITY TECHNIQUES/METHODOLOGIES constitutes irrefutable evidence of incompetence in the upper echelons of State and Federal police. Let it here be stated that former (imported) commissioner, Peter Ryan destroyed the fabric and continuity of successful policing in NSW by bureaucratising what WAS essentially a security organisation – corrupt elements notwithstanding.

The result of bureaucratic, as opposed to SECURITY oriented policing, was amply demonstrated during the APEC summit. Policing is NOT becoming the aggressor/provocateur, woman basher or middle-aged man basher, it is about security oriented social skills, crowd/people management and preventative strategies; successful policing NEVER resorts to brute force as a first option! The NSW police stand thoroughly indictable for numerous offences, the gravest concern, however, is the OBVIOUS LACK OF EXPERTISE currently plaguing our Federal and State police!

Australian society cannot tolerate police flouting the Law and removing identification badges from their uniforms under any circumstances, ESPECIALLY prior to duties involving demonstrations!

But sadly in Australia policing has degenerated into officers removing identifying material and resorting to brute force as a FIRST rather than LAST option!

The APEC summit was a thorough DISGRACE brought to you courtesy of John Howard and Morris Iemma. The public is not impressed.

Authorities have failed to consider the cultural ramifications of their abysmal actions. Exonerating police in ‘our’ courts is the last straw. Buried deep in the AUSTRALIAN cultural psyche is resentment toward all forms of criminal policing and unfair treatment of citizens; the AUSTRALIAN people were correct to chant, “SHAME,” at police as they witnessed police tactics more reminiscent of our penal colony past than the civilised society we live in today.

Do not forget that the racist, cringer colonialist, John Howard, stated he thoroughly supported the police during the APEC security failure and public demonstrations.

The polling booth at the forthcoming Federal election will provide citizens of AUSTRALIA with a perfect opportunity to express their sentiments regarding the RE-INTRODUCTION of Police State tactics in our fair land!

Shame, shame on political policing and incompetent government -- the people will not soon forget.

Dispatch Howard and his ‘team’ to the political wilderness where they ALL belong!
