Wonderland Down Under: Snoop Dogg refused visa
dingo, Thursday, Apr 26 2007, 10:25pm
Internationally known racist, war criminal, Iraqi holocaust denier and coward prime minister of Australia, John Howard stated that [black] entertainer Snoop Dogg had been banned from entering Australia for “sound reasons … I have to be careful what I say in these matters but he has been ... well there are certain judgments that are made on certain advice that I can't go into, but the reasons for banning him are sound," said Howard. Perhaps the black rapper is also a HIV carrier and votes Democrat! Howard recently levelled more criticism at US Democrats in relation to the war in Iraq. The absurdity and hypocrisy of Howard’s behaviour is reaching levels unimagined by even his most fervent critics. (story and 1 image)

Travesty of War: Lest we Forget
peptide, Tuesday, Apr 24 2007, 1:37pm
For reasons too numerous to cite, I weep as I write this piece. Today is the highly emotive, for Aussies and Kiwis, ANZAC day – a day of remembrance and commemoration for those who desperately seek a national identity in a modern alienated society. Yet constructing a national identity based on WAR is fraught with a multitude of obvious dangers. NOTHING valid or sane exists that could glorify War. WAR is the lowest form of human expression; those who attempt to glorify war deserve our unrelenting critical attention. Those who attempt to exploit highly emotive mythologised events deserve to be questioned. What are their real intentions and does a tailored view of what was essentially a military debacle really enhance national identity? Also, who is likely to capitalise on highly emotive mythologies that depress the critical and discriminative faculties? The nature of social power relations associated with a particular myth may assist in delivering some answers. (story and 2 images)

Frantic Lunge from Drowning Conservative
nano, Sunday, Apr 22 2007, 3:46pm
Howard’s latest glib contribution, ‘Australia Rising’, delivered at the Queensland Media Club today, is yet another attempt to claw back into favour and steal attention away from the Murdoch endorsed future Prime Minister, Kevin (I can suck harder than you) Rudd. Howard’s spin-doctors have been working overtime to no avail it would seem. Following the ridiculous and desperate attempts to steal the agenda with infantile attacks on US presidential candidates, the HIV positive and most recently Howard's very revealing and ‘removed’ call for divine intervention regarding the water crisis, the “Australia Rising” speech will no doubt be greeted by the public with all the disdain it deserves! Bereft and incompetent Howard seeks Divine intervention!
dingo, Saturday, Apr 21 2007, 1:34pm
After over a decade of negligence and dereliction of duty, the Prime Minister of secular Australia has urged the population to “pray for rain”. “It's very serious, [O really, we hadn’t noticed Oz is a desert continent!] it's unprecedented in my lifetime [local experts have sounded alarms for decades] and I really feel very deeply for the people affected, [platitude]” Mr Howard told ABC Television. The Candidate of Oz
budgie, Friday, Apr 20 2007, 5:27pm
The closer Australia gets to the Federal election, the fewer the political differences between the two major candidates! The chances of opposition leader, Kevin Rudd becoming the next Australian prime minister have increased dramatically following his private dinner engagement with king maker, Rupert Murdoch in New York today. During his quick visit to the U.S., Rudd also addressed the Brookings Institution in Washington and confirmed that any negligible differences between his policies and Howard’s would be completely eradicated by the time of the election and that he was ready, willing and able to assume the ’position’ of lackey, sycophant and new governor of America’s newest colonial acquisition, Australia! Timor-Leste: El Dorado of the South Pacific
Kwang zi, Saturday, Apr 14 2007, 6:18pm
The current population of East Timor is approximately one million souls while the value of its natural gas and oil reserves amount to billions of dollars. However, the tiny new island nation is impoverished with above 35% unemployment and a rural based economy. Without elaborating further, Timor-Leste presents an extremely volatile situation as greedy interests, primarily America via its ‘World’ Bank and Australia-New Zealand acting as the military arm, poise themselves to exploit the impoverished people and nation of Timor-Leste.

The Popular Front: Timor-Leste remains fundamentally Fretilin
finch, Friday, Apr 13 2007, 11:32am
Regardless of the destabilising intervention of Australia/USA via Major Reinado and the current occupation, Fretilin remains the principal political force in East Timor. Its roots extend to the beginnings of national identity forged during the bloody resistance campaigns against Indonesia's attempt to annex the tiny nation. After 450 years of Portuguese colonial rule and the recent violent interventions of foreign interests, the tiny nation of Timor-Leste has learnt the value of freedom and independence. The East Javanese left may have influenced the early political leanings of Fretilin, however, today's Fretilin is fervently nationalistic and rejects all forms of foreign interference. HIV carriers not welcome in Australia
nano, Thursday, Apr 12 2007, 1:18pm
The grotesque and disgusting, pathological, lying coward Prime Minister of Australia, John Howard is cutting a comical figure as he flounders from one gaffe and blunder to another. Jumping straight from the ‘cubicle’ of support for a known racist and questionable character (Alan Jones) to the primitive, superstitious behaviour of stigmatising individuals suffering manageable maladies and preventing them from entering the country. Howard’s recent gesture of banning individuals with HIV is reminiscent of the all-male, ruling priest class of the Old Testament who banished women experiencing their menstrual cycle. Menstruating women once struck fear into the hearts of ignorant and primitive men – the primitivism of it all! Howard is exposing some extremely disturbing gender issues and phobias with his latest unenlightened attempt to manipulate Australian society. (story and 1 image)

Singo furious over Broadcast Regulator’s ruling on Alan Jones
barra, Wednesday, Apr 11 2007, 10:36pm
One could almost feel sorry for highflying, right wing, media types who derive a living from exploiting the lowest aspects of human nature. But there is ‘no love lost’ around here and I imagine anywhere else. Media moguls are getting a taste of life at the receiving end, perhaps they may think twice before making IRRESPONSIBLE racist, vilifying comments at the expense of those in the least position to defend themselves. The results of negative media hype and racist remarks include foul abuse levelled at you, your wife and kids in public; being spat on for no reason other than your skin colour or religion, and the ugly culmination of all racist behaviour, the race riot (Cronulla, 2005). Are we sorry the purveyors of social division and slur are experiencing frustration at the lack of recourse and remedial action available to them – not on your life? Racist Prime Minister of Oz sinks to new Low
barra, Tuesday, Apr 10 2007, 2:00pm
The Australian Prime Minister, John Howard, has come out in support of a known public toilet loitering homosexual racist. Alan Jones, a controversial toilet loiterer and talkback radio host was recently found to be in breach of the broadcasting code. Another dubious and prominent character, John Singleton, known for his past links with Heroin importing former grade footballers and the CIA Nugan Hand Bank, has also expressed his support for the toilet-loitering, sexual deviant broadcaster. [I do not wish to labour a point but Jones was arrested and charged in London with two counts of “outraging public decency by behaving in an indecent manner under the Westminster by-laws”.] (story and 2 comments and 2 images)

The Price of Complacency
cleaves, Monday, Apr 9 2007, 2:01pm
The price of inaction in the face of criminal government is about to be extracted; the cost will be borne by ALL. Would the point finally be driven home if the irrefutable, clearest indicator of psychopathology in government were to be demonstrated to the whole world? The manic and ruthless determination by Washington neocons to pursue an inherently sociopathic plan for world domination (PNAC) now threatens to open Pandora’s NUCLEAR box. Once open every nation would have been given license by the USA to utilise any weapon it chooses – perhaps that is the wish of doctrinaire neocons who subscribe to the permanent war philosophy? The near future should confirm whether Israeli training exercises and U.S. intelligence gathering materialises into a nuclear attack on Iran. (story and 2 images)

Cultural Inversions and Criminal Leadership
finch, Thursday, Apr 5 2007, 3:13pm
Imagine coalition leaders recoiling in horror at the prospect of facing the truth that it is they who are the most criminally liable and culpable terrorists in the world today! Former Secretary General of the UN, Kofi Annan, stated that in order to effectively combat terrorism a universal definition of ‘terrorism’ would be imperative. A ratified definition would eliminate politically motivated, arbitrary definitions made by various groups/States for the principal purpose of serving their own interests. In the absence of a universal definition the legal system and International criminal courts are ‘hamstrung’ or worse, subject to manipulation by powerful (criminal) interests. (story and 1 image)

Manipulating the Oz Masses

The novice Environment Minister, Malcolm Turnbull, has weighed in on the Hicks debate with a wild accusation inferring that Hicks was “.. seeking to destroy our civilisation.” -- what next? Turnbull's statement follows hot on the heels of the stratospheric logic (see link) displayed by the Federal Treasurer in his effort to save the government -- who's next? David Hicks receives Sentence
dingo, Friday, Mar 30 2007, 10:49am
Notice the use of language -- Australian news radio (12 noon) today broadcast that “convicted terrorist, David Hicks, receives nine month sentence...” – shame on ABC news radio, one can only wonder whether the choice of wording reflected the fundamentalist conservative, evangelical christian values of the Howard-loving producer, who will remain nameless in this report. Unlike American loving evangelical christians, most Australians accept “convictions” as a result of fair trials and due legal process NOT sordid kangaroo court 'determinations'. (story and 1 comment)

American Justice: Hicks Tortured, Rumsfeld Exonerated!
Kingfisher, Wednesday, Mar 28 2007, 12:14pm
The now infamous Donald Rumsfeld has avoided legal responsibility for the extremely controversial ruling he made in December 2002, which effectively allowed the U.S. military to utilise torture methods against their perceived or imagined enemies. An American court ruled that Rumsfeld had no case to answer due principally to the fact that as Secretary of Defence he was IMMUNE from the charges! One Law for you and another for me! If the public ever wondered why Bush, Blair and Howard appear unconcerned over the prospect of war crimes charges, perhaps the Rumsfeld decision sheds some light on the matter. (story and 1 image)

Howard blunders badly over Hicks Case
nano, Tuesday, Mar 27 2007, 12:14pm
John Howard, the servile Australian prime minister has probably ended his tenure in office over his blind, sycophantic support of the flagrantly illegal proceedings against the Australian citizen, David Hicks. Howard’s extraordinary support of a foreign power at the cost of his own nation and its values is a political blunder from which it is almost impossible to recover. The very widely known facts of the Kangaroo military proceedings against Hicks speak for themselves. Any nation that legalises torture, flouts the Geneva convention and International law; attacks civil liberties and human rights; denies habeas corpus; admits hearsay ‘evidence’ obtained under duress and torture has no legal or moral claim on the concept of justice whatsoever. The entire world (with the exception of John Howard) is cognisant of that fact! (story and 1 image)

Aussie Torture Victim pleads ‘Guilty’
finch, Monday, Mar 26 2007, 12:14pm
In circumstances that could only be described as ‘railroading’ and coercive, the Aussie battler, David Hicks has pleaded guilty to one count of providing material support to terrorists. Few Australians, including leading legal advocates accept the ‘trial’ of Hicks as legally legitimate. The flagrantly rogue court convened under the most biased and unfair conditions also disqualified Hicks’ civilian lawyers at the last minute. Hicks’ (now) disqualified lawyers accused the presiding judge, Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Kohlmann of making up the rules as he went along – there is nothing new in the ‘legal’ proceedings at Guantanamo Bay! Slogans are Not Solutions
nano, Tuesday, Mar 20 2007, 10:48pm
In a recent speech delivered to a defence ‘think-tank’, the Australian Prime Minister John Howard displayed his total contempt for the Australian public and his audience by once again avoiding the real issues of the Iraq occupation. Howard refused to acknowledge the absolute fiasco and civilian death toll that he and fellow coalition leaders, Blair and Bush are directly responsible for. Rather than face the issues of a criminal invasion, subsequent oil plunder and a horrendous civilian death toll, Howard, in step with his American masters, echoed the same refrain as Bush. Howard asked that we forget four long years of absolute disaster and mismanagement and grant more time to the occupiers to essentially wreak more havoc on a nation that only wishes for the removal of all foreign troops from its soil. The Fragility of Power
peptide, Wednesday, Mar 14 2007, 1:34pm
Surely a little nudge does not warrant such an over-reaction from the panic-stricken U.S. administration. One of the last ‘cards’ in the neo-con deck has been played, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, conveniently held in reserve for future political emergencies, has confessed to everything from 9/11, to stealing my son’s push bike. Panic reigns in conservative park! Whatever happened to Bin Laden? The extreme measure of producing a victim of classic torture/brainwashing in a futile attempt to save the day for conservatives around the world, from Bush to the Howard government of Australia, is bound to fail. Independent experts in various fields could easily determine whether or not the subject is in a fit psychological state and whether any confessions should be taken seriously. Nevertheless, conservative leaders everywhere were quick to try and capitalise on this exceedingly transparent event. (story and 2 comments and 2 images)

Bush, ‘political cadaver’ -- It’s all but (over)
nano, Saturday, Mar 10 2007, 9:29am
There is something politically odd about Bush’s tour of various Latin American countries. South American nations were ‘lost’ to the U.S. some time ago – the price paid for America’s fixation on the Middle East. Bush is loathed internationally but is particularly despised in Latin America. The Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez accurately called Bush a “political cadaver” and led 20,000 Argentinian supporters in the chant, “gringo go home”, during his counter-tour of the region.
