Deceit and the Political Right
Jon Faulkner via dasha, Sunday, Oct 3 2010, 7:26am
Without being entirely dismissive of the progressive response to the right's ascendancy it is painfully obvious that words, no matter how eloquent or apt, fall short when arguing the progressive ideology. Republican sophists use rhetorical argument, albeit in the absence of truth, to great success to refute the progressive left.

Blackwater [Xe] Wins Piece of $10 Billion Mercenary Deal
Spencer Ackerman via fleet, Saturday, Oct 2 2010, 11:35pm
Never mind the dead civilians. Forget about the stolen guns. Get over the murder arrests, the fraud allegations, and the accusations of guards pumping themselves up with steroids and cocaine. Through a “joint venture,” the notorious private-security firm Blackwater has won a piece of a five-year State Department contract worth up to $10 billion, Danger Room has learned. ATO: never fear, incompetent Oz bureaucrats are here!
baz, Saturday, Oct 2 2010, 10:42pm
[Attention Gillard, Keneally, Bligh and other Oz government ‘leaders.’]
Burgeoning, wasteful and thoroughly inept Oz government regulatory institutions reflect a dysfunctional Federal and State system in obvious need of DRASTIC reform and the purging of bureaucratic fat cats responsible for their INCOMPETENT and wasteful departments!

Dumping Dollars The Easy Way
Bob Chapman via fleet, Thursday, Sep 30 2010, 9:21pm
"Russia is the exception and has thus far failed to use stimulus to weaken its rouble. Every time the IMF tries to suppress gold prices with its gold sales, Russia is right there buying it up, which must infuriate the elitists in Europe and the US. Almost 2/3s of their economy’s growth loss has been due to drought and fires, but with close to $500 billion in foreign exchange, they have no trouble buying gold, which puts those reserves at close to 24 million ounces. It is an easy way to dump dollars.

Simplistic ‘Solutions’
gan, Tuesday, Sep 28 2010, 9:28pm
Since the introduction of George W Bush’s simplistic, reductionism, “you’re either with us or you’re with the terrorists,” the world has undergone a drastic regression into caveman politics and brute force international relations. It seems almost impossible to conceive that Bush’s moronic, divisionist statement would gain traction in the world, BUT it has – at horrendous cost to innocent civilians unfortunate enough to be in the way of US military expansionism and/or Oil (polluting) Corporations everywhere. Oz ‘Justice’
quin, Monday, Sep 27 2010, 9:22pm
It’s 'nice' to know little has really changed in this former penal colony -- the corrupt elitist ‘club’ is alive and well. Former Prime Minister, Paul ‘fingers’ Keating, infamous for the Casino "we had to have" on Christmas Island – patronised mainly by the mega-corrupt ruling Indonesian hierarchy of the time. Millions in stolen and re-directed American aid and other monies were laundered through the Casino's tables, thanks to Keating. [And] that embarrassing 'little matter' of a burdensome pig farm conveniently absorbed by Indonesian ‘investors’ – give us all a break, you brazen criminal, Keating! But what’s a thoroughly corrupt, PUPPET politician in Oz these days? (story and 1 image)

The Inner Workings of the International Gold Market
Bob Chapman via fleet, Saturday, Sep 25 2010, 9:28pm
We recently saw gold at $1,300.00 an ounce. That is a long way from $35.00 an ounce on August 15, 1971, just a year shy of 40 years, from when President Nixon closed the gold window. Over the past ten years gold has been up about 20% a year. Shares and mint state graded numismatic coins have certainly outperformed gold bullion. We suppose we’ll know in the final analysis what government manipulation has done to prices and results. We believe that what they have done has been criminal for which they will never be prosecuted. On the other hand buyers have had an unprecedented opportunity to buy gold and silver, bullion, coins and shares at artificially suppressed prices. That condition still exists. Year-to-date in 2010 gold is up about 17%. (story and 1 image)

Transcript of Speech delivered to the UN General Assembly by the President of Iran
via fleet, Thursday, Sep 23 2010, 9:46pm
Western Corporate media goes to great lengths to demonise this man and portray him as some kind of mass murdering maniac, when in fact all the mass murdering that has occurred over the past decade and continues to occur today, has been committed by US/NATO and other servile allies -- FACT!
Read the following speech and judge for yourself. Compare the violent, lying diatribes that issue from the mouths of Western leaders with this man's rational and balanced plea to the world for SANITY and FAIR PLAY!
My only criticism is the slavish homage and other references made to a man-made God (all Gods have been created by men!) However, that fault affects only deluded believers in fantasy and those slaves under the authority of (human) religious leaders, who CLEARLY have no higher interest than blood, guts and themselves; history bears irrefutable proof of that fact! But please, arrive at your OWN conclusions, thinking for yourself has not yet been deemed a crime: (story and 1 comment)

America’s Permanent War Doctrine for the 21st Century
stan, Wednesday, Sep 22 2010, 7:03pm
We’ve heard it in many forms, the “long war” of Dick Cheney; the “crusade” of the moron president, Bush, and of late, “generational war,” from Pentagon military – it’s a hard sell launched from a multitude of lies, deceit and based on the highly questionable government report on the attacks of 9/11! But regardless of all America’s efforts, few are BUYING this ideological garbage except of course the local uneducated, uninformed, fear ridden, American population. The rest of the world views US actions accurately, as CRIMINAL; designed to ROB poor nations of their sovereign wealth. (story and 1 comment)

Israel and America -- Brazen Criminal States
Prof. Lawrence Davidson via reed, Tuesday, Sep 21 2010, 9:04pm
Neither American nor Israeli behavior is legal under international law. It is all a violation of Article 54 of Protocol I, Part IV, of the Geneva Conventions (1977). The law reads, “It is prohibited to attack, destroy, remove or render useless objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population, such as …drinking water installations and supplies…whatever the motive whether in order to starve out the civilian population, to cause them to move away, or for any other motive.” (story and 1 image)
