text Kyrgyzstan And The Battle For Central Asia Rick Rozoff via reed, Thursday, Apr 8 2010, 7:41am
Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev was deposed five years after and in the same manner as he came to power, in a bloody uprising. Elected president two months after the so-called Tulip Revolution of 2005 he helped engineer, he was since then head of state of the main transit nation for the U.S. and NATO war in Afghanistan.

pollutionclouds.jpg image How Does a Corporation Speak? William A Cohn via reed, Thursday, Feb 18 2010, 6:04pm
A corporation speaks by clear-cutting old-growth forests, by dumping pollutants in our communities and denying care for our elders, by off-shoring to avoid paying taxes, and by outsourcing and eliminating jobs. This inanimate Frankenstein constructed by law now enjoys vast legal and constitutional rights which it wields against humans, animals and nature. (story and 1 comment and 1 image)

text Goldman Sachs: it's not Greek to me! Robert Scheer via quin, Thursday, Feb 18 2010, 5:35am
“What is this Goldman Sachs and why has it caused us so much grief?” is a question they must be asking in even the most remote of Greek villages, as they are throughout much of this economically troubled world. The Greek financial scandal in which Goldman Sachs stands accused of selling dubious derivatives that concealed enormous government debt has sent the Greek economy and European markets into a tailspin. But that’s just part of a made-in-the-USA banking hustle that has haunted folks at home and abroad.

equalityamongbanksters.jpg image Secret Banking Cabal Emerges From AIG Shadows David Reilly via reed, Monday, Feb 1 2010, 7:50am
The idea of secret banking cabals that control the country and global economy are a given among conspiracy theorists who stockpile ammo, bottled water and peanut butter. After this week’s congressional hearing into the bailout of American International Group Inc., you have to wonder if those folks are crazy after all. (story and 2 images)

[US] Corporate military 'secures' Palace grounds, Haiti image Disasters are Big Business William Bowles via stan, Friday, Jan 22 2010, 1:13pm
I am staggered. There are 10,000 ‘NGOs’ (Non-Governmental Organizations) in Haiti, one for every 900 inhabitants and each one of them has no doubt at least one Westerner working within, yet aside from the Cuban health workers, it seems they could do nothing until the gringos arrived with their Blackhawks and nuclear-tipped aircraft carrier and of course, the 82nd Airborne, paying yet another ‘visit’ to this benighted and super-exploited land to ’secure’ the place for the locust storm of aid to come (too late for too many). princewilliam.jpg image Anglo Aussies line harbour foreshore to catch a glimpse of ‘Royalty’ morgan, Tuesday, Jan 19 2010, 10:42pm
In a scene reminiscent of the 50’s, Anglo-Aussies lined the Sydney harbour foreshore to get a glimpse of pommy Royalty; Republic anyone? In an extraordinary display of national infantilism and lack of identity, hundreds of vacuum-headed Australians, with no memory of the past or our early horrendous history, celebrated the appearance of a man directly descended from those responsible for inflicting so much grief and pain onto the Aborigines and early convict settlers! gold.jpg image Currency Warfare -- Review of Financial Markets Bob Chapman via stan, Thursday, Dec 3 2009, 8:49am
This past week was one of utmost turmoil in world markets. In the midst of an American holiday, Dubai faced bankruptcy for approx. $100 billion. Another unsuspected untoward event. The exposure of the Dubai event coming as it did could have been discovered at any given time, thus, we question the timing. We can understand why the London market was off some 300 Dow points, but exposure to Dubai was very limited in Europe, the US and in Asia. Could it have been an excuse to take down the US and European markets and gold and silver? We do not know, but we have come to question everything that happens. (story and 1 image)

text The Forgotten Bird Of Paradise John Pilger via stan, Monday, Nov 16 2009, 4:44pm
When General Suharto, the West’s man, seized power in Indonesia in the mid-1960s, he offered “a gleam of light in Asia”, rejoiced Time magazine. That he had killed up to a million [mostly ethnic Chinese] 'communists' was of no account in the acquisition of what Richard Nixon called “the richest hoard of natural resources, the greatest prize in South-east Asia”.

text Racist American colony, Australia, takes another battering from BRIC dasha, Saturday, Aug 1 2009, 1:17am
The cowardly, obedient, flea nation of the South Pacific and its shameless, servile ‘leadership’ are currently being taught a lesson not soon to be forgotten. Russia has joined its allies, India and China, in their moral, political and economic attacks on the Rudd ‘custard’ government by banning the importation of all kangaroo meat into Russia. This ban, which severely impacts Australia on a number of fronts, is too well timed to be accidental or coincidental. (story and 1 comment)

A geriatric David Rockefeller image Brief History of the Shortest Lived Empire on Record, Pt. 1 Andrew Gavin Marshall via quin, Friday, Jul 31 2009, 9:53am
Introduction

“And it’s come to this;” are reputed to be the last words uttered by notorious Australian bushranger Ned Kelly before he was hanged. Today those fateful words apply to a bandit nation that chose, like Kelly, to live the hard, fast, short life of a rogue and bandit. (story and 7 comments and 5 images)

text In an Impotent World even Criminal Aggression is Tolerated Paul Craig Roberts via reed, Tuesday, Jul 21 2009, 12:24am
"The Russians and Chinese are off balance because of successful American interventions in their spheres of influence, uncertain of the threat and the response. Russia could have prevented the coming attack on Iran, but, pressured by Washington, Russia has not delivered the missile systems that Iran purchased. China suffers from her own hubris as a rising economic power, and is about to lose her energy investments in Iran to US/Israeli aggression. China is funding America’s wars of aggression with loans, and Russia is even helping the US to set up a puppet state in Afghanistan, thus opening up former Soviet central Asia to US hegemony. text Send puppet Obama -- U.S. Corporatists alarmed over China dominance in Africa krill, Sunday, Jul 12 2009, 1:24am
American Corporatists, Bankers and Financiers have sent their, groomed for the task, puppet to Africa to stem Chinese dominance of the oil/resource-rich region. We should mention that commercial trade between the African continent and China has existed for thousands of years, as archaeological evidence in Kenya reveals. However, the modern world has a new brutal, mass murdering, imperial player on the scene, America, which distinguishes itself from civilised nations by unrepentant civilian-killing, huge scale drug manufacturing (by proxy) and political meddling in the affairs of other nations. No other nation comes close to America’s MONSTROUS RECORD in brutality, exploitation and drug proliferation – they are the FACTS, as opposed to FOX ‘news’ spin and propaganda! (story and 1 comment)

The United States and British governments, supported by Australia, were deeply complicit in the murder of more than half a million alleged communist sympathisers in the wake of the 1965 Indonesian coup, a prominent historian told an international conference in Singapore last month.
