The Federal Court in Sydney today ruled in favour of Internet Service Provider, iiNet, in an action mounted by a group of AMERICAN and local media heavies which include, Universal Pictures, Warner Bros, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, 20th Century Fox, Disney, Village Roadshow and the local Seven TV Network. These mega-media companies claimed that iiNet infringed copyright by allowing subscribers to download/share movies, television programs and other media products; however, Justice Dennis Cowdroy stated in the clearest possible terms that it was “impossible” to hold iiNet responsible for the actions of its subscribers! Slightly over 1,000 Americans surveyed, in a population approaching three hundred million, rated FOX News, ‘most trusted’ news outlet with a 50%-plus, approval rating; a figure well above the nearest competitor, CNN, with a 39% approval rating. The reason for Murdoch’s apparent success is plain to see – Murdoch completely dumped the charade of impartiality and deliberately wooed a partisan audience with the most biased and twisted commentary imaginable – so what’s the problem? People forget that News and the media are BUSINESSES, ie CORPORATE ENTITIES designed to turn a buck above ALL other considerations, TRUTH has little to do with it unless it happens to support an existing policy direction. Predictably, the Corporatist mass media is desperately saturating the airwaves with a ‘new’ strategy to win an UNWINNABLE war in Afghanistan. Over 60 puppet political leaders met in London yesterday to demonstrate and make public a show of unity on extending the occupation/war in Afghanistan! The entire media exercise was designed to legitimise a continuing presence in South Asia and convince a very wary public that the ‘new strategy,’ of “re-integration” would work. The title refers to a radical Christian text that almost didn’t make into the New Testament, I would add here that what is NEW and reformed makes redundant and OBSOLETE what is OLD, referring to Jewish teaching in the OLD Testament. In other words all direction and guidance for Christians is to be obtained from the New Testament, as is clearly indicated in Hebrews 8:13 -- but to the advice couched in REVELATION 3: 15-16. Horror racist attacks continue in Australia

Attacks on Indians continue unabated in Victoria since the brutal stabbing death of Indian student Nitin Garg two weeks ago. The latest attacks occurred only 24 hours after an Australian man was sentenced to three months jail for racially vilifying and threatening an Indian taxi driver with his life. Two more Indian taxi drivers have been targeted in separate racist attacks in Ballarat. The assailants may have been motivated by 'one of their own' receiving a severe penalty for the ‘minor’ offence of threatening an Indian with his life -- we’ll show those curry-munchers what’s what ‘round ‘ere, mate!
