"What is absurd and monstrous about war is that men who have no personal quarrel should be trained to murder one another in cold blood" -- Aldous Huxley

What best describes these two?
pin, Thursday, Nov 29 2007, 10:07am
‘Evil’ is a relative (binary) term and is therefore not useful for thinking persons. However, MALEVOLENT is an emphatic descriptor and an extremely accurate and useful term. (story and 1 image)

Religion: a Global plague of the Mind
peptide, Tuesday, Nov 27 2007, 10:33am
Try as we might we cannot ignore the mindless, inane and violent antics of religionists. It is clear that this particular social disease must be dealt with before more mindless violence affects our respective societies. The principal offenders are of the Abrahamic tradition; even a cursory read of the Old Testament describes an insane, genocidal, violent, morbidly moody, God, who is full of contradictions – a nut case in other words! I challenge any theologian from the Abrahamic tradition, Judaism, Islam or Christianity to prove otherwise! Their ‘God’ in his own words, via the mediumistic talents of his ‘prophets,’ is a psychopathic basket case. It’s time the human race grew up and relinquished irrational, infantile, violent, fantasies. (story and 1 comment and 3 images)

Goodbye Bernie, goodbye ol’ mate!
barra, Monday, Nov 26 2007, 10:59am
The Imperial British say, “the King is dead, long live the King;” in Australia we say, “Bernie Banton is dead long live Bernie,” AND the Oz tradition of fair play and the fair go. Commiserations to the family and a heroic tribute to a REAL Aussie fighter – hang your heads you scumbag, murdering, corporate-loving, conservatives! Everyone involved in the disgraceful attempt to shirk responsibility in Bernie’s case should be tried for manslaughter! (story and 2 images)

John ‘psychopath’ Bolton and Condi ‘give war a chance’ Rice, introduced the world to U.S. SANCTIONED INFANTICIDE during the South Lebanon conflict, notwithstanding the ongoing infanticide DENIAL in Iraq. Over one million children have been killed and maimed in Iraq as a direct result of invasive, violent, western intervention. However, the world not only tolerates this most heinous of all crimes IT PARTICIPATES by failing to bring the known criminals to justice. (story and 2 comments and 1 image)

Corporate control confirmed by vacuous Oz election
Kingfisher, Thursday, Nov 22 2007, 12:03pm
The current Australian federal election has seen the population barraged with non-substantive slogans, marketing tricks, rhetoric, negative fear campaigns and personal attacks BUT VERY LITTLE IN THE WAY OF REAL POLICIES! Neither major party has detailed policies for what promises to be a very dire future for the planet but particularly for Australia. That is the tragedy of corporate controlled Australia today; make no mistake, the two leaders vying for government have pledged their allegiance to the corporate sector above all else! NATO, fools rush in!
peptide, Wednesday, Nov 21 2007, 10:08am
A reference was made in an earlier article to the real masters of war – Afghans, Serbs and Vietnamese. Today the reality of that FACT is highlighted by a recent report on developments in Afghanistan. Afghan forces – comprising only of common Afghanis – are teaching modern western soldiers that wars are won by people not propaganda, bribery, UAVs, indiscriminate artillery or missile attacks. This is warfare at grass roots level -- warfare NATO’s modern armies are not ‘equipped’ to fight! (story and 1 image)

Kosovo: declaring unilateral independence – WAR!
dusan, Tuesday, Nov 20 2007, 11:40pm
The utter folly of it all! Western (NATO/US) forces are so desperate to destroy what is left of Yugoslavia they blind themselves to the real consequences and costs of their short term actions. Any fool can see the cost outweighs the perceived benefit – it just isn’t worth it!

Today’s Colonial Australia
dingo, Monday, Nov 19 2007, 10:34am
What a pathetic lot Aussies really are; their current war criminal leader, John Howard, typifies the national character perfectly. The former British (now American) colony continues to suffer from a colonial cringe mentality a century after declaring Federation. Someone forgot to declare a national IDENTITY at the time of federation and Aussies have suffered lackey status and inferiority ever since! (story and 1 image)

NSW Coroner: Balibo five murdered in cold blood
nano, Thursday, Nov 15 2007, 2:18pm
The NSW Coroner has found, in relation to the Balibo five, as follows:
FINDING – SECTION 22(1) CORONERS ACT 1980.
“Brian Raymond Peters, in the company of fellow journalists Gary James Cunningham, Malcolm Harvie Rennie, Gregory John Shackleton and Anthony John Stewart, collectively known as “the Balibo Five”, died at Balibo in Timor- Leste on 16 October 1975 from wounds sustained when he was shot and/or stabbed deliberately, and not in the heat of battle, by members of the Indonesian Special Forces, including Christoforus da Silva and Captain Yunus Yosfiah on the orders of Captain Yosfiah, to prevent him from revealing that Indonesian Special Forces had participated in the attack on Balibo. There is strong circumstantial evidence that those orders emanated from the Head of the Indonesian Special Forces, Major-General Benny Murdani to Colonel Dading Kalbuadi, Special Forces Group Commander in Timor, and then to Captain Yosfiah.” (story and 1 image and 1 attached file)

The Political Suicide of Malcolm Turnbull
dingo, Monday, Nov 12 2007, 8:04am
The wealthy, conservative, Eastern Suburbs of Sydney should provide a very safe seat for the conservatives; however, recent polls indicate that Malcolm Turnbull, ‘future Prime Minister,’ is under siege from both the Labor candidate and independent conservatives. It seems our arrogant Environment Minister is facing a very short-lived career as a sitting member of Parliament. (story and 1 image)

We have all been distracted by clever commentary, ‘exposures,’ ENDLESS TALK and a very compliant media. What is lacking, however, is ACTION and that is NO ACCIDENT! (story and 2 comments and 1 image)

Seeking Carmel Travers
barra, Sunday, Nov 4 2007, 11:09am
The title indirectly hints at the fact that this intro is an indictment of the current crop of Oz journalists and a tribute to Carmel Travers – who it seems was the last real Australian journalist willing to pursue the Truth at any cost.
In the wake of a damning report assessing declining press freedoms and disappearing government transparency, Travers’ outstanding professionalism and character shines like a beacon in the dark mire of selective, biased and servile reporting. Travers clearly refused to accommodate the new neatly ‘tailored’ form of journalism, which has more in common with propaganda and entertainment than investigative reporting. (story and 2 images)

Collusion and Interference in State Institutions
nano, Thursday, Nov 1 2007, 11:58am
It is absolutely imperative in any democracy that legal, regulatory and other important State Institutions REMAIN INDEPENDENT and free of GOVERNMENT INTERFERENCE. However, in America today we witness flagrant attempts by the Bush regime to commandeer legal and regulatory organisations to the neo-conservative ideology and cause -- the result of these outrageous interventions has been the wholesale subversion of the founding democratic principles of the nation. McCarthyism and the John Howard election campaign

But it seems you’ve forgotten Joe McCarthy and his ignominious end. In two words Geoff, NEGATIVE OVERKILL! Diamond ring and 'pinch of shit' *
barra, Friday, Oct 26 2007, 1:07pm
Analysts, the socially informed and criminal elites are acutely aware of the horrendous environmental calamity we are now facing. Do not be deceived, ‘tipping points,’ ‘thresholds,’ ‘runaway effects,’ ‘irreversible forces,’ have already been activated, passed, breached, exceeded! We are actually living on borrowed time NOW! However, it has already been decided that the masses – that’s you and me – are EXPENDABLE! High quality arable land has already been commandeered by the powers for bio-fuel production; the obvious consequences of this action are massive food shortages and skyrocketing prices in the very near future – is a picture slowly forming in the dull brains of the sheeple? The Failed Ape
nano, Thursday, Oct 25 2007, 7:30pm
A UN study group has just delivered a clear warning to HUMANKIND – in this case late is not better than never! For the past few decades specialists have been heard sounding exactly the same alarms/warnings from the modern wilderness. However, certain COMMERCIAL interests have muted the warning cries of concerned scientists and environmentalists. The most recent example is George W Bush favouring reports from oil company friendly ‘scientists’ refuting the effects of industrial, petro-chemical pollution on the planet’s climate and sensitive eco-systems. These delaying tactics only postponed the inevitable – runaway global warming and environmental chaos! (story and 3 images)

Conservative Jitters
peptide, Tuesday, Oct 23 2007, 1:52pm
The last thing any incumbent government wants to hear at election time is incriminating information relating to past failures, unpopular decisions and damaging indiscretions – ‘let’s stay focused on the NOW,’ is the new slogan of the conservatives. Little wonder, as the current PM is responsible for dragging the nation into an illegal war, abandoning citizens to foreign powers, surrendering drug mules to barbaric regimes to face the death penalty, deporting Australian citizens who didn’t have European round eyes and white skin, instigating race riots, allowing corporations to dictate policy, fast tracking approval for the Pluto and Gorgon gas projects and BHP evading water costs that local farmers face daily! We could add surrendering the nation to the yanks and its wealth to the Transnationals while allowing necessary services – education, health/dental, infrastructures, road/rail, housing and energy to fall into disrepair or neglect. Can the World afford Religious Hypocrites today?
budgie, Monday, Oct 22 2007, 11:44am
The genus of religious leader carries with it nasty character traits and virulent psychological disease regardless of the particular religion the leader represents. Last week saw the appalling hypocrisy of the Dalai Lama – in total denial -- willingly accept honours from the Holocaust President, G W Bush. It was refreshing to witness this much-venerated FRAUD finally display his true form to the world. However, just prior to the Dalai Lama’s self-exposure, a historically consistent hypocrite [the Pope] was engaged in the usual sordid politics of religion – an excellent expose’ from FPIF follows this introduction. Racist Semiotics and Nazi Gold
finch, Sunday, Oct 21 2007, 2:36pm
Switzerland has often been portrayed and the neutral nation of Europe; it was spared the ravages of WWII principally due to the fact that other nations – Nazi Germany in particular – required a convenient location to store their gold in times of war. Big business also requires anonymous accounts in times of tax evasion! Yes, this is Switzerland, we ask no questions of regimes and institutions that deposit ingots and bars of gold, some of which now known to have been derived from Jewish gold fillings, stolen jewellery and other stolen artefacts. Our banks are happy to accept untraceable gold bars and other items of value – if you please! (story and 1 image)
