Politics and the absurd

We have entered a new era in politics, an era where criminality is accepted from government but not from the people, an era in which honours are bestowed on war criminals rather than life sentences, an era where the Law has become a Whore!

Dr. Mohamed Haneef, victimised by Australian Government
Dr. Mohamed Haneef, victimised by Australian Government

Former Australian PM, John ‘aluminium tubing’ Howard, recently received one of Australia’s highest civic honours, the Companion of the Order of Australia. The award was bestowed in recognition of his role in the illegal invasion of Iraq and the civilian holocaust that ensued. One million innocent civilian dead is no minor achievement; we should all praise his efforts and bestow honours and medals on this brazen little war criminal, especially in consideration of the fact the war was based on orchestrated deceptions in which he knowingly participated! His companions in the criminal ruse were none other than Bush, Cheney and Blair – all men of impeccable character and integrity!

Fortunately history is not as accommodating and those who bestow awards and medals. In contrast to the decisions of ruling cliques, real Australian heroes wait decades for muffled recognition; I refer to the brave men who fought the battle of Long Tan. [A few of us will ensure your sacrifices and valiant achievements are not forgotten.]

As with all things pushed to extremes, once a tipping point is breached things become unpredictable and uncontrollable.

For instance, Parliament House could be taken in an hour by a handful of skilled specialists, that is a matter of fact. The factors that prevent social anarchy and mayhem are mutual respect, moral codes and the LAW. But if the law is no longer observed the fabric of society tears and mob rule soon follows. Fortunately we have not yet adopted the example of our political leaders – a message for the world perhaps!

Nevertheless, tensions and forces in society must be balanced in order to avoid chaos. To avoid the wrath of citizens offended by the inversion of Law and moral codes, we would ask that Australia honour those deserving of praise in future and reward criminals according to existing Laws that function efficiently when applied! A civilised and fair request in the wake of war criminals, cowards and shameless racists receiving the highest civic honour the nation can bestow.

It is never too late to commit a right or rectify a wrong! An astute commentator once stated the Haneef scandal could bring down the government; however, an election removed the government from office prior to the official announcement that Haneef had been cleared of all charges. The charges were brought by Howard lackey, Commissioner of Federal Police, Mick ‘have another drink, dropkick’ Keelty -- former Immigration Ministers Kevin Andrews and Philip Ruddock also have much to answer for. Justice has not yet been served; criminals in the former government – chief among them John Howard, remain unpunished and at large.

The same Laws that applied then apply now; Dr. Haneef, as every man and his dog would be aware, was set up to boost Howard’s election prospects. Howard’s loathsome advisers, chief among them one Geoffrey Cousins, thought their Christmases had come at once when it was discovered that Haneef was related to a known terrorist. The dark skinned Dr. Haneef provided ‘buckets’ of racist ‘currency’ in xenophobic, racist Australia and his blood connection with known terrorists was too tempting for Howard and his spin doctors to resist – the fact that Haneef was innocent and would be traumatised by the experience of false arrest and social/poitical scapegoat did not seem to bother Howard and his conservative cohorts How could he not be guilty he was black/brown, a Muslim and related to known terrorists, whacko! What self-respecting conservative arsehole could resist the frame-up – one that could be traced to the former PM’s office?

Howard by this time was infamous for similar stunts, the ‘Tampa crisis’, and parading moron Muslim clerics on television, were just a few of his political tricks – race riots not seen in a hundred years erupted during Howard’s tenure! [Media facilitator, Tony Jones of the ABC, was always happy to accommodate Howard and his conservatives on his current affairs program at the time!]

However, the truth soon emerged regarding the Haneef arrest. AFP chief Keelty, faced with evidence from Scotland Yard that refuted his ‘evidence’ was caught in a very compromising position. In order to save himself from disgrace and a possible jail sentence he spared no expense in his attempt to frame the innocent Dr. Haneef. Millions in tax payers’ money was ‘burnt’ in a futile attempt to compromise the innocent Indian Doctor. The case had too high a profile for the usual classic ‘fit,’ Haneef would inevitably be cleared of all fabricated charges, as has recently occurred.

This outcome leaves the current Rudd government is a compromising position. Should Murdoch’s hand-picked Prime Minister, Rudd, pursue the case to its logical end, which involves corruption and collusion at the highest levels of government or should it be backgrounded and smothered in order to PROTECT THE GUILTY?

Faced with a real decision (God forbid) what would the servile, non-event Kevin Rudd do? Perhaps a chance encounter with Labor numbers man, Graham ‘Richo’ Richardson, may shed some light on an outcome. After stating my opinion that Howard should be jailed for his part in the Haneef scandal, Richo responded with, ‘no we couldn’t chase John Howard [for his crimes’], “we can’t do that,” he said. Well, why fuckin’ not, screams every red blooded Aussie in the country?

We’ve had enough of mass murdering war criminals in government that also love to destroy traditional Australian values. Bestowing honours and medals on them is just too much to bear!

If you’re wondering what Rudd would do take a squiz at the US presidential race; Mr bullshit ‘hope and change,’ Obama, has not even hinted that he will take action against the Bush regime for its countless crimes! Faced with proven crimes committed by Bush and members of his administration, Obama ignores them and like Pelosi is ready to deal with the powers instead of upholding common decency and civilised law. Would Murdoch’s hand picked PM behave differently?

We are all waiting with bated breath and finely calibrated scopes for justice to be served – it’s YOUR move, arseholes!
