ICC, no jurisdiction over Israel/America!
by barra Thursday, Jan 15 2009, 9:27pm
international / injustice/law / commentary

The International Criminal Court confirmed, after Palestine brought war crimes issues to notice, that it had no jurisdiction over Israel or America – how convenient! All doubts are removed as to how or why leading terrorist nations, Israel and America, are able to wantonly kill civilians and commit numerous atrocities with impunity! Perhaps Bin Laden ought to insist on a similar arrangement, it worked for Kosovar war criminals, so why not! We should ALL demand equal dispensation or exemption – the LAW is truly an ASS or should I say a convenient means of avoiding JUSTICE!

WE should have known that only VICTIMS and TARGETS of Israel and America fall under the jurisdiction of the ICC – for Christ’s fuckin sake! Who are you people trying to kid? Does anyone require more evidence that the USA and Israel are the two leading CRIMINAL nations in the world today?

We have a little question and message for Meyer and Jethro, have you ever seen an elephant hiding behind a straw? When the law fails the people, the people BECOME THE LAW! Those who fail to learn from history are CONDEMNED to repeat it.

Q: What did the Jews learn from the Nazi holocaust? A: It is better to dispense horror and terror than receive it!

We would remind Jethro and Meyer of the fate of Nazi Germany and its leaders – politicians are urged to think twice; how much more GROSS INJUSTICE, MURDER and DECEIT can people take before social ‘order’ collapses?

Report from Reuters follows:

ICC prosecutor says has no jurisdiction in Gaza

THE HAGUE, Jan 14 (Reuters) - The International Criminal Court prosecutor in The Hague said on Wednesday it lacks jurisdiction to investigate possible war crimes recently committed in the Gaza Strip.

The prosecutor's statement came after a Palestinian rights group called on the ICC to investigate Israel for committing war crimes during its 19-day-old offensive in Gaza.

The office of the prosecutor said the court's jurisdiction is limited to war crimes, crimes against humanity and the crime of genocide committed on the territory of, or by a national of, a state party.

"In Gaza at present, the ICC lacks such jurisdiction," the prosecutor said in a statement.

The prosecutor said crimes committed in other situations can come before the ICC if the relevant non-party state voluntarily accepts the jurisdiction of the court on an ad hoc basis or if the United Nations Security Council refers a situation.

Set up in 2000, the Hague-based ICC is the world's first permanent court established to investigate and prosecute war crimes.

Israel and the United States are not among the 108 countries that have signed the Rome Statute creating the court, but that would not prevent the ICC from launching an investigation.

George Galloway spells out Truth on Gaza in British House of Commons
by fleet Saturday, Jan 17 2009, 7:45am

There are far too few politicians willing to speak the truth these days. George Galloway speaks candidly on the hypocrisy and double standards the West displays toward Israel's flagrant criminal assault in Gaza.

MP makes Israeli troops Nazi link
by staff report via quill - BBC Saturday, Jan 17 2009, 8:13am

A prominent Jewish MP has compared the actions of Israeli troops with Nazis who forced his family to flee Poland.

Sir Gerald Kaufman, MP for Gorton in Manchester, drew the parallel during a Commons debate on the Gaza conflict.

Some members of the Jewish community - including his fellow MPs - have questioned the comments.

Louise Ellman MP, of the Labour Friends of Israel group, said the "dreadful" war in Gaza was not comparable to German actions in World War II.

Sir Gerald, who was brought up as an orthodox Jew and Zionist, told MPs: "My grandmother was ill in bed when the Nazis came to her home town .. a German soldier shot her dead in her bed.

"My grandmother did not die to provide cover for Israeli soldiers murdering Palestinian grandmothers in Gaza."

"The present Israeli government ruthlessly and cynically exploit the continuing guilt from gentiles over the slaughter of Jews in the Holocaust as justification for their murder of Palestinians."

Palestinian deaths in the Gaza Strip have passed 1,000, medical sources in Gaza say, but Israel has continued to resist international calls for a ceasefire.

The Israeli government says the action is necessary to prevent Hamas rocket attacks into southern Israel.

Labour MP Louise Ellman said: "The Nazis were about rounding up and exterminating people because of their origins.

"What we're witnessing in Gaza is a dreadful war and the Israelis are trying to stop Hamas continuing to launch rockets from Gaza, targeting and killing and murdering Israeli citizens."

But speaking to the BBC on Friday, Sir Gerald said he was standing by his comments.

"We had an IRA bomb in Manchester which destroyed much of the centre - we didn't send troops over to Belfast to murder 1,000 Catholics."

Sir Gerald said he had been a long-term supporter of Israel and has personally known many of its prime pinisters.

But he added: "I am not going to stand by and keep silent when the Israeli troops - with a dreadful government sending them there - kill large numbers of innocent people with no useful result at the end of it all."

British MP Galloway barred from Canada over 'supporting Hamas'
by DPA via rialator - Haaretz Friday, Mar 20 2009, 10:49pm

[Tragic puppet of a puppet, Canada, suffers huge blow to reputation!]

Outspoken British anti-war member of parliament (MP) George Galloway Friday denounced as "outrageous" a decision by the Canadian authorities to refuse him entry on the grounds of national security.

Galloway, a former Labor politician who has now set up his own political party, said in London that he would not accept the ban imposed ahead of a speech he had planned to give in Toronto.

The 54-year-old maverick politician, who left Britain's ruling Labor Party in protest at its support for military intervention overseas, was refused entry to Egypt in 2006. He is an MP for his Respect Party.

"All right-thinking Canadians, whether they agree with me over the wisdom of sending troops to Afghanistan or not, will oppose this outrageous decision," he said in London Friday.

He was due to speak at a public forum entitled "Resisting war from Gaza to Kandahar" in Toronto on March 30.

According to the Press Association Friday, a spokesman for Canada's immigration minister, Jason Kenney, has made clear that the decision will not be overturned.

Galloway had been deemed "inadmissible" to Canada under section 34(1) of the country's immigration act.

Kenney's spokesman, Alykhan Velshi said the act was designed to protect Canadians from people who fund, support or engage in terrorism."

"We're going to uphold the law, not give special treatment to this ... street-corner Cromwell who actually brags about giving 'financial support' to Hamas, a terrorist organization banned in Canada," Velshi was quoted as saying by the British Press Association.
