Australian alert, Kevin Rudd, a dead loss!

Few silver platter opportunities occur in politics but failing to take advantage is unforgivable. The whole (thinking) nation is wondering why the opposition leader failed to capitalise on the Haneef fabrication/collusion/‘fit’/DEBACLE! Rudd has been doing his best of late to completely close the ideological gap between Howard and himself. Kevin Rudd seems to be seeking an unholy conservative marriage with his ‘arch-rival’, John Howard – some may be perplexed at the opposition leader's recent behaviour; however, we are reminded that conservatism never opposes itself! The ‘opposition leader’ has supported the government on more occasions than he has opposed it – an identity crisis, perhaps, but a most extraordinary scenario regardless of any other consideration, especially in view of the government exposing its ‘throat’ over the Haneef beat-up. Perhaps Rudd has forgotten the meaning of the word “opposition,” -- golden opportunities capable of destroying one’s opponent should never go begging, in fact, Rudd’s inaction is inexcusable and should have triggered a major challenge to his ‘leadership.’
From the first day the government undertook to scapegoat an Indian doctor for political reasons, the opposition should have taken the offensive in a case that clearly was destined to fail but Rudd remained passive, indecisive, PARALYSED! The Haneef case was a sham from the start as numerous posts to this site indicated. If a track record means anything the Haneef stunt was pure unadulterated Howard at his very worst. The Australian public is wondering why Rudd cannot see what it sees quite clearly.
The Australian public is now faced with few interpretations regarding Rudd’s behaviour; either he was aware of the truth and chose not to act for reasons known only to himself or he was prevented through lack of judgement, fear, incompetence or for more sinister ‘Murdochian’ reasons; but why bother speculating, Rudd’s inaction IS INEXCUSABLE and labels him a FAILURE or a FRAUD, take your pick!
No excuses exist for letting Howard off the hook, heads must roll and appropriate legal pressure must be applied to all involved in this fiasco – the spectacle of government ministers and senior public servants lying through their teeth to avoid criminal prosecution would be a source of public entertainment for months. The truth of Howard’s guilt may yet be revealed, not that it would surprise the public but the truth (integrity) has no friend in Kevin Rudd.
The timing and circumstances surrounding the Haneef case reveal it to be the most desperate of all of Howard’s political stunts/beat-ups. It reeks of an orchestrated, premeditated, concerted manoeuvre from the beginning to its inevitable inglorious, calamitous conclusion. Had the opposition relentlessly pursued the case the ‘buck’ would have inevitably stopped with Howard, or at the very least a number of senior ministers.
With every week that passes Rudd appears weaker and weaker; it is fortunate indeed the Australian people have become aware of the pathetic little coward and incompetent CONSERVATIVE that Rudd really is! Australia has already experienced 11 tedious, debt-crushing, inequitable years of CONSERVATIVE GOVERNMENT with Howard – has it not occurred to the Labor party that the people are desperate for REAL CHANGE, the last thing Australia needs is more lackey, conservatives in government! Rudd is appearing to be nothing more than a pale conservative replica of Howard and that is the last thing the people want!
All great political leaders take the initiative and go on the OFFENSIVE instinctively – there is no love lost in politics. A ‘leader’ that fails to relentlessly attack his opponent is a dud – Rudd by name, dud by nature. The solution for the Australian people is clear; all voting support for the major parties must be withdrawn until such time as the majors learn to represent the people. It is critical that the Senate vote NOT be given to ANY Liberal or Labor candidate – the same should apply to the house of Representatives. Your vote is your opportunity to register your displeasure with the course our politicians have taken. Restore the nation to the people do not vote for unrepresentative major parties that only serve powerful, undemocratic, minority interests that are raping the nation at speed.

Eee-yaw, hee-haw, the sound of the Australian public being made to look like total donkeys in front of a billion Indians. Our legal system now a complete ass, courteousy of Howard & Ruddock's "anti-terror" legislation.
But that's OK with Hollow Kev, he'll sign off on anything. Pass the rubber stamp!

BIG media is all apologetics with Rudd, NOW!
Interesting in this age of inverted meanings and euphemisms, instead of calling Rudd what he is, a gutless, servile, jellyfish -- big media call him a player of wedge politics or rather, one who refuses to play. But most people still know a coward or shirker but especially a passive when they see one.
This is a salvage attempt -- yes, Rudd's 'tactics' reek of everything distasteful in sport, battle and politics, so it's uncle Corporate media to the rescue, we can't have people not voting for the major parties now, CAN WE?!
All the apologetics you ever want to read in one lifetime follows:

[A chorus of support!]
Restore the nation to the people; DO NOT support major party (Lib-Lab) candidates for the Senate and to a lesser extent the house of Reps.
The people are feared only at election time; send a clear message that the nation’s natural wealth belongs to ALL Australians – withdrawing your support for the majors is a vote for EQUITY! A vote for the majors is a vote for continuing DISPARITY.
