Put them all up against a wall …

Every housewife knows the principle of the purchase ie, buy the best item for the best price. However, this fundamental principle is lost on Australian conservatives in desperate need of an authority figure. The need for paternalistic authority in conservatives outweighs common sense. Brendan ‘studs’ Nelson, short-lived leader of the opposition and previous Australian Defence Minister, made the most gullible and totally inappropriate military hardware purchase (from daddy America) in living memory – probably in the nation’s short history if the historical record is taken into account -- well done ‘studs,’ you conservative, lackey, clown!

Brendan Nelson
Brendan Nelson

While on a visit to Washington, prior to his party losing government, Nelson managed to make the most inept military hardware purchase since the idiotic Collins class submarines!

The entire world is aware that America is a nation that must constantly dump sub-standard and outmoded weapons technologies, systems and hardware in order to replace them with the latest technology. The class of Hornet jet fighters ordered by Nelson falls neatly into the superseded category. Our not so savvy defence minister took the bull by the rear (shit) end and purchased sub-standard, outmoded and inappropriate Hornet jet fighters from the yanks.

To highlight Nelson’s cringe mentality, he proceeded with the purchase in the knowledge that access to vital computer control systems had not been granted or included in the sale – the yanks were screaming national security issues at the time! Without the inclusion of control systems codes, most goat herders and illiterate traders would have told the yanks to shove their jets up their arses but not our sickeningly, servile Liberal Defence Minister! Such was the nauseatingly slavish relationship Oz-cons had with their American masters! Are we now beginning to understand the title of this piece?

According to a report by Tom Allard of the SMH, it seems the new government has a modicum of housewife sense and is currently reviewing the purchases made by custard-face Nelson. Did I omit to mention the ‘minor matter’ of surrendering air supremacy to the Indonesians had the Hornet sale proceeded? The Indonesians have purchased a far superior jet fighter from the Russians at significantly reduced costs! Perhaps Australia should review its entire arms strategy as a result of this fiasco – should we not purchase, as any housewife would, the best item for the best price from whoever has the best product? America is on a downhill run and should be allowed to reap the reward for its incompetence, all by itself! Have we got that, Kevin? This is the South Pacific REGION and strategic/appropriate armaments are critical in maintaining balance.

[One could almost hear the yanks promising Nelson they would ‘protect us’ regardless of inferior air power; this myth must be put to rest – recent history has proven without doubt the yanks are incapable of protecting themselves – say goodbye to Baghdad and Kabul!]
