Australia Day: a pathetic joke
by major mitchell Friday, Jan 25 2008, 9:41pm
national / social/political / commentary

A nation that flies a union jack on its flag has no independent identity whatsoever. Other former British colonies have achieved total independence decades past but not cringing Australia. Almost daily we read of yet another race-based bashing; a Chinese born permanent resident kicked to death in Footscray by a bunch of remnant Johnny Howard racist cowards is just par for the course in this retrogressive nation.

The indigenous population continues to be ostracised and suffer third world conditions while the white population turns a blind eye to their plight. After years of overt racism, gleefully resurrected by the previous PM John Howard and lovingly embraced by the population, we finally offer a feeble gesture of apology with the word ‘sorry’ written in the sky above iconic Bondi beach. However, that vaporous gesture hardly constitutes a REAL apology and compensation for the ‘stolen generation’ – aboriginal children torn from their mothers' arms and placed in government institutions to be trained as laundry maids, servants and slaves.

I wipe my arse with this sunburnt country of loathsome cowards and cringing, insular, xenophobes.

Queensland, the home State of the new non-entity PM, Kevin Rudd, boasts the most recent black death in custody. The corruption in that state is so entrenched they do not even attempt to hide or disguise it! Internal injuries sustained by the unfortunate aboriginal man were so severe he died of a severed liver, the result of a policeman ‘falling on him;’ testimony a Queensland court was happy to accept – give us a break Queensland!

A nation characterised by cowardly leaders too afraid to regulate parasitic banks or question the outrageous salaries of executives while the general population suffers crushing debt and depressed wages.

A nation so afraid of independence it seeks the apron strings of the biggest moron nation on the planet – America!

A nation that condones violent police state tactics (APEC) when faced with citizens exercising their democratic right to protest.

Declaring a Republic and drafting a Constitution and Bill of Rights seems beyond the capability of Australians today. On each occasion the issue of a Republic is raised the people begin to shudder and cringe; they seek comfort in outmoded symbols of colony and empire.

Australia, a dead loss!

‘I love a melanoma country a land of cringing cowards’ … finish it yourself!

Australia day is a national disgrace.

Wake up Australia!

Where to from here

Isn't it time Australia formulated its own sovereign bill of rights? When will Australians wake up and realise it’s time we modernised and joined the 21st century?

We should place our past behind us, where it belongs. The first thing we should do is become a republic and adopt new national and state flags.

Bringing back real Australian values like the concept of a fair go should be returned at once!

Draconian workplace laws should be eliminated and the ill-treatment of our indigenous people should cease immediately. As for our colonialist past, it should be relegated to history.
