ACTIONS not words define REALITY
major mitchell, Saturday, Dec 19 2009, 11:10pm
The world’s leading TERRORIST and SOCIOPATHIC nation remains characteristically true to form -- this week, The United States of America expanded its civilian killing pursuits to Yemen where the use of inappropriate, disproportionate and imprecise (in the circumstances) Air strikes killed at least 63 civilians including 28 CHILDREN; God Bless America, indeed. It is clear that waging acquisitive warfare does not serve the interests of any Christian God but serves his archrival, Lucifer! So let’s call a spade a spade and a heinous, hypocritical, Criminal State exactly what it is!

"No binding agreements" -- Copenhagen ends in FAILURE
hue, Friday, Dec 18 2009, 8:20pm
Predictably, the Copenhagen Climate 'Accord' ended in FAILURE; participants were more concerned with national rather than planetary issues.
Participating representatives avoided binding agreements favouring instead the SHORT TERM ECONOMIC INTERESTS of their respective nations -- and therein lies the problem! (story and 1 comment and 1 image)

Obama: pathetic!
Shamus Cooke via quill, Friday, Dec 18 2009, 5:46am
Shortly before Obama was sent to Copenhagen to deliver a scripted speech on behalf of rich Bankers, Military Industrialists and the REAL ruling elite of the USA, he implored the US banking/financial establishment to lend more money to the average person and small business -- you know, they're the people that bailed the banks out with trillions in future debt and tax burdens. To demonstrate their heart-felt gratitude for the people and the government, the bankers, while drowning themselves in yet more bonuses, refused Obama's request and showed him the service exit! It should now be plain to even the average American that Western democratic governments NO LONGER GOVERN anything! (story and 3 images)

Kevin Rudd’s Last Stand at ‘Little Big’ Copenhagen
bluey, Thursday, Dec 17 2009, 8:59pm
One cannot help but draw parallels between the arrogance, foolhardiness and NARCISSISM of General George Armstrong Custer and his modern blonde counterpart, Kevin ‘photo-op’ Rudd. Both men share similar personality flaws, not the least being pathological narcissism, which also explains the one-man-band attitude of both men AND of course defines their greatest weakness and the inevitable cause of their ignominious FALL from grace. The Front
hue, Wednesday, Dec 16 2009, 6:18pm
‘Hard work always pays dividends,’ a phrase straight from the Corporatist Bible, but to whom goes the dividends -- that is the question? The recent Iraqi Oil Auction, a circus of an event televised like a game show on Iraqi television (see link) dispels once and for all the myth that nation states are the seat of power and influence or that ‘democracy’ exists outside dictionary definitions! Back to the 50’s – RETROGRESSIVE [Internet] Censorship in Oz
Kismo, Tuesday, Dec 15 2009, 8:12pm
It was clear from the outset that unpopular, UNDEMOCRATIC policies to CENSOR the free flow of information in Australia would be PUSHED THROUGH the legislative process by Kevin Rudd regardless of all opposition! A news release yesterday confirmed that Rudd’s Communications Minister and Murdoch errand boy, Stephen Conroy, would legislate – FORCE compliance in other words – new Internet CENSORSHIP laws by mid 2010! Why Americans Are a Broken People?
Bruce E. Levine via quill, Monday, Dec 14 2009, 6:58pm
Can people become so broken that truths of how they are being screwed do not "set them free" but instead further demoralize them? Has such a demoralization happened in the United States? (story and 1 comment)

Politicians under direct attack: the times have changed
birdie, Monday, Dec 14 2009, 6:59am
If day follows night the growing trend of direct attacks on corrupt politicians will shortly be followed by direct attacks on the forces that control them. CORPORATISTS should follow the lead set by Goldman Sachs executives who have armed themselves in the event of a populist uprising against them – imagine that? Oz Political Vermin Survival Strategies
dasha, Sunday, Dec 13 2009, 7:57am
In contrast to kitchen vermin, which always seek out dark cracks and crevices when under threat, Oz political vermin, when confronted with massive popularity/face LOSS -- failed ‘Messiah’ of ETS at ‘No-Hopen-Hagen;’ border 'protection;' pissweak whaling ‘warrior’ in our hemisphere; continuing BHP artesian water theft; wholesale rape of the nation by Corporations and gut-turning cowardice/compliance with every dictate of Washington regarding sending our troops to AMERICA’S ILLEGAL (and failed) WARS – but to the point; politicians, unlike their kitchen cockroach cousins, seek the LIMELIGHT to DISTRACT and survive when threatened with demise! Bernanke applies liquid palliative while Real Economy continues to flounder
Mike Whitney via fleet, Saturday, Dec 12 2009, 5:31pm
The Fed's monetary intervention has created a bifurcated market. Stocks rise on an ocean of central bank liquidity while the real economy continues to languish in a small "d" depression. The disparity between financial markets and the underlying "productive" economy has never been greater. Nor has the "wealth gap", the gross inequality exacerbated by decades of "monetarist" supply side policies. Bernanke simply has no other choice but to try to inflate another gigantic bubble that will lift the economy from the doldrums on a speculative wave of zero-rate liquidity. The problem is, according to Bernanke himself, the strategy is not working.

USA Refuses to Allow UN Inspectors to Investigate its WMDs!
AFP via rann, Friday, Dec 11 2009, 6:01pm
PROOF incontrovertible! It's all out in the open NOW!
The world's leading civilian killing (therefore TERRORIST) nation persistently refuses to comply with International Law and Convention -- Balkans and South Asia -- is anyone really surprised that America now clarifies its ROGUE STATUS by denying UN weapons inspectors access to its WMD sites? Radicalism in new Oz opposition may prove successful
spot, Thursday, Dec 10 2009, 9:14pm
It is no secret that Oz has been cursed with spineless, sycophantic, subservient (to Washington) national leaders since Paul ‘bank fees’ Keating. After the agonisingly long tenure of arch-conservative and WAR CRIMINAL, John Howard, Australia hoped beyond reason that the new PM Kevin ‘show pony’ Rudd would return the nation to its traditional cultural values, but alas, it is now painfully clear WE GOT STUCK WITH ANOTHER SERVILE, CONSERVATIVE NERD! FUCK Yoo!
Bob Egelko via stan, Tuesday, Dec 8 2009, 7:33pm
The ‘HOPE and CHANGE’ (ROFL) administration of Corporatist PUPPET Barack Obaa’ma has intervened in the case against former Bush legal advisor, John Yoo, the man who LEGITIMISED TORTURE (for God’s sake) and left an indelible stain on a once proud and MORAL nation! The US had an opportunity to demonstrate to the world that it was serious about criminal reform in high office but lost out to the rancorous, corrupt ruling elite that control Washington. Copenhagen: the 'FIX' is in -- Corporatist sham EXPOSED!
John Vidal via fish, Tuesday, Dec 8 2009, 6:48pm

Remembering Patrice Lumumba
Danny Schechter via reed, Tuesday, Dec 8 2009, 8:26am

On Thursday we went to the Museum of Beaux Arts, really a school for teaching sculpture, a subject close to me because my late dad sculpted in stone and wood as a hobby. Currency Warfare -- Review of Financial Markets
Bob Chapman via stan, Thursday, Dec 3 2009, 8:49am
This past week was one of utmost turmoil in world markets. In the midst of an American holiday, Dubai faced bankruptcy for approx. $100 billion. Another unsuspected untoward event. The exposure of the Dubai event coming as it did could have been discovered at any given time, thus, we question the timing. We can understand why the London market was off some 300 Dow points, but exposure to Dubai was very limited in Europe, the US and in Asia. Could it have been an excuse to take down the US and European markets and gold and silver? We do not know, but we have come to question everything that happens. (story and 1 image)
